“Perfect business hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

Stayed for two nights while attending a trade show in Nurnberg. Extremely clean. Friendly staff. Fresh tasty breakfast. Great value. A perfect hotel for a business trip. I would certainly stay here again.

Stayed here for three nights to run the half-marathon. This hotel was much cheaper than anything but very basic places in the city centre. Handy for trams (though I caught the wrong one on the way in and ended up across the river: still, to walk along the river bank on a sunny evening is very pleasant) and the surrounding area has a pleasant villagey feel. Had a really comfortable and spacious room (though by slight error, as my single booking was shown at the hotel as a double, but there was no problem to sort the bill at payment) looking over the rooftops at the back. Plentiful continental breakfast of high quality, including fresh-grind coffee machine which even turned out a perfectly layered latte macchiato, I didn't try the restaurant but did enjoy a beer on the pleasant terrace.

Wurzburg itself is a lovely city, I did see it at it's best in a spring heatwave (30C! a little hot for the race, though) and I hope to return in much less time than the 24 years since my previous visit, maybe to cycle along the Main.

Stayed 1 night and accommodation was decent. Room was clean and well-kept, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful with directions. Location is not the most ideal if you do not drive in Wurzburg as it is 2-3 km away from the city centre and the tram ride will take about 15-20 mins. Tram station is about 300m away and Tram no. 3 or 5 will take you to the city centre.
Please note that only tram no. 5 operates on Sunday and the operating intervals are longer. Hence, if you do need to catch a train via the Wurzburg main train station, make sure you get your tram timings right to avoid missing your train.

As others have commented, this place is about 3-4 km south west of town centre, so it's a little remote from rest of the city. Our room was not in the main building of the hotel, but what looked like an extension built next to it. However, this turned out to be for the better as we found our room to be very well equipped, both in the bedroom and as well as in the rather large and spacious bathroom. We arrived in the hottest weekend of the year (temp > 35 deg C) and we dreaded walking into the warm bedroom but were very pleased to find it to be cool and breezy.

The continental breakfast is included and though it was nothing spectacular, the food was above average for this type of establishments. We also found the staff to be very polite and friendly,

The location was a little too far from the town centre and the tram journey takes around 15 mins each way plus a few minutes walk to the hotel, so once you're in town you're very reluctant to go back to the hotel for a rest or to go back to get something you've forgotten to bring with you.

Ideally suited for those visiting Wurzburg with a car, or be prepare to either cycle to town or rely on bus and trams. Taxis to town centre costs around 11 Euros (at the time of writing).

The one downside of this place is that it is right opposite a church, which rings its bells every hour and every 15 minutes, from morning till fairly late at night. So, if you're a light sleeper ask for rooms facing away from the church. Our room was facing towards the front of the road, so we couldn't avoid hearing the bells.

A small hotel that is a part of the wall of the old town. The hotel appears to have expanded over time and our room was in a separate building adjacent to the main building. Parking is free and the room was a nice size. Complimentary water bottles a large shower an flat screen TV. We had dinner at the hotel as most of the local places had closed up for the evening. The food selection was good albeit limited. A full bar service and outdoor seating topped it off. Breakfast had a standard fare of meats, breads, fruit, yogurt etc... and included in the price. They had a nice automatic coffee / espresso machine that was self service. The tram to the tourist part of town is just a quick 2-3 minute walk and the ride is about 10-15 minutes. One word of caution is the church just across the street. The bells stop ringing at 22:00 and start up again in the morning early enough where sleeping in could be a problem.

Room Tip: Be aware of the church bells that ring throughout the day starting in the early morning. Free parki...

Can't fault this hotel. Good location (next to tram line for the city) clean and modern facilities, easy parking on site, bicycle storage, free wifi, pleasant terraced dining area, nothing too much trouble for the staff. Don't need an alarm call on weekdays - the church bells just across the road are vey loud at 7am!

We stayed for one night on a business trip and found the room adequate. The breakfast with it's great selection of fresh baked breads, boiled eggs, yoghurt, cereals and local cold cuts and fresh fruits added to the value.
