“Great hotel, close to everything.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2010

We stayed in Rothenburg ob der Tauber at Prinzehotel as part of our honeymoon in October 2009. We had a room with one king bed facing the outer wall of the old town. The room was comfortable, modern and there was not a lot of noise from outside but we could hear the people in the room next to us watching tv and snoring. The hotel was within walking distance of everything in the old town, the center of town was only a 5-10 minute walk. Initially getting the car to the hotel was a bit of a challenge because it is a bit hidden and the street signs are a bit confusing. The internet in the lobby was handy, fast enough to use skype and the included breakfast was quite good (German style breakfast). Overall we would stay there again and would recommend it to our friends.

We booked a 3 day stay here, mainly to be used as a base to see other towns. The staff were friendly after out long drive from Hannover but being so hot all we wanted to do was get into our room. This is when we found out that there is no fan or air conditioning.
The nights were unbearable, we had the window wide open but with such high roofs in Rothenburg, there was no breeze to relinquish the heat. The room itself is dated and it appears the owners have concentrated their expenditure on the bathrooms, which were a welcome site and quite large. We did not have breakfast here, as nobody else seemed to. There is not a great deal happening in this town, especially at night. Hotels seem to tbe the only place where you can quench your thirst. It is a charming town but no need to stay here. After the second night we checked out due to the heat. Probably a good stay in winter!

I had an excellent stay here with the help of a very friendly, helpful front-desk lady. My room was very large considering I paid a single room rate. It was also a bargain compared to other areas in Europe. Rothenburg was so interesting I stayed another night here. Make sure you visit the city museum that is in an old(eveerything is real old) monastery. There is a medieval weapons collection that is incredible..

I had issues with one of the female staff members, she argued with me over wether or not I was supposed to be getting breakfast or not as part of my room package. I let it go as we were in a hurry, but I didnt appreciate her telling me to wait until she could check me out as she was busy. Horst, who worked the night shift on the other had was very nice, made suggestions as to where we could go for dinner, and he helped us with our luggage. It was 2 euros to use the wifi. Should have been free. The room was clean, and of normal size for Europe. Id stay here again despite the staff member that argued with me.

We stayed at this hotel the first week in June 2010, and it was nice and quiet, clean and in a good location. It is literally facing the inside of the city right next to the wall with easy access to the stairs so you can walk around the wall if you desire. Everything is an easy walking distance and this little city is lovely with a ton of history. It does close down early though so after 8pm there isn't much to do but relax in your room. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Rothenburg.

This is a great place to stay on the "Romantische Strasse" right in the heart of Rothenburg. Parking around the hotel is available. Nice to be in the centre of town, especially so you can enjoy the town in the evening when all the tourbuses have gone. The hotel has good rooms, good breakfast, and friendly staff. Breakfast can be taken outside when the weather is nice! We stayed 3 nights and were really glad to have chosen this hotel.
