“Back in Medieval times.”

Walk around on the top of the wall. Great views! Stop and have a coffee, the Germans sure likes their sweets, and they're good at them.

“A great village to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We loved this town for its history and remarkable condition. There are a lot of tourists in the day, so it is essential to stay here if you want to really experience the town. This was one of the best places we visited in Germany.

“Something for everyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

What a picturesque town. You can enjoy the Medival wall, musuems, wonderful resturants , and St. Jabob's church. Just enjoy walking around town. There is a couple of places off the main square that has free W/C. The best Christmas stores are Kathe Wohlfahrt and Annelise Friese store for Germany made items. If you read Rick Steves travel books they will give you a discount. I only had a part of a day thier but I fell in love with this village.

“Had to Return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We visited this lovely little town a year ago as a side trip while on a river cruise. We loved it so much we decided to come back by car this year and stay a day or two. Wonderful shopping, but can be a little pricy. The area is small so shop around and you will find a bargain and or a unique gift. Most shops are willing to ship home for you quite reasonably. We have found great little shops, excellent restaurants, wonderful cafés and beautiful streets to just stroll around. About two or three nights is all you need. Definitely worth taking a bit of time to visit. Wonderful selection of Christmas ornaments and other Christmas items, and I understand the Christmas Market here is quite wonderful in late November, December.

“Lovely city on the Romantische Strasse”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Well preserved walled city on the Romantische Strasse. Take your time and explore the city, plenty of historic buildings to see. Make sure to visit the big woodcarved Riemenschneider altar in the Jacobschurch. Ofcourse don't forget to enjoy a nice german beer when you are there!
There is a huge christmas store opened the entire year, it is quite surreal to enter there in the summer but worth a visit.
