“Very handy location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

This hotel was very accomodating! Beautifully located with pleanty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. After a long day of skiing, you can relax in an oversized tub, or at the nicely decorated bar. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Rooms spacious and airy. Spa amazing. Right in wakling distance of everything. Rooms a bit spread out, but not a huge problem. Bathrooms bright, updated and spacious as well. Fussen is the go to place for a visit to thre Neuschwanstein Castle.

Room Tip: Any room really, as all seem to have a view of something with the town, and surrounding area.

We spent one night in this hotel while visiting Fussen and the nearby Neuschwanstein Castle.
Location – Great. 1 minute walk to the old city, 5 minutes' drive to the castle.
Parking – the hotel has an underground car parking (for extra charge) which is a "must have" as there are almost no parking alternatives. There is an elevator directly to the hotel's floors.
The check in - was both efficient and friendly. They gave us also good tips about Fussen's highlights and the next day castle's visit.
The room – was at top floor. It was big luxury and non-smoking. The bathroom was large with a nice shower and good stream of hot and cold water.
Breakfast buffet –nice with a great variety of items

This hotel was booked as part of our Germany Tour. Must say the location is ideal right in the middle of the city centre. We had room 317.The decor of the room was very nice. Our room faced the Spielcasino, so we thought it would get very noisy but we heard nothing, you could open the windows. We also had a great view of the Alps. Good size room, comfortable bed pillows etc. The toileties in the bathroom were large plastic bottle attached to the walls, shampoo, conditoner, soap etc. Also was free Nivea products, which was a lovely touch. The key to the rooms are a swipe key, this was a little bit frustrating as at times would NOT open the door, hence a trip down to reception. This happened to other in our group. Now bear in mind that the lift and the floors to NOT marry up with each other so we did get off on wrong floor, a bit of a rabbit's warren. But no big deal. A huge group of Japanese tourists arrived the same day as our small group, this was no problems as the hotel had organised a separate eating area for them in the breakfast room as they did for our group which was great. Breakfast I gave them a 8/10 everything from hot to cold was there. The staff were lovely as we did have to change our room as we had requested a double they had given us a twin. No problem at all they changed it straight away. We ate at a lovely restaurant, nothing fancy but the food was excellant, this place is attached to the front of the restaurant, sorry cannot remember the name. Directly underneath is a supermarket which was very handy for drinks, nibbles etc. We ate at the same place twice. If ever we were to visit Fussen again we would definitley stay at this hotel. Oh yes, one more thing no bar fridges in the room.

Room Tip: 317 our room no complaints

The hotel is at the center of downtown Fussen, friendly front desk and room service staff, good parking lot very nice room for a family of 4, one double and two single beds, large bathroom for EU standards. No A/C, but at 8 degrees centigrades we did not missed it. One night 227,40 euros. Not bad if you compare with other two bedrooms options. Besides the place and surrounding areas take your mind away from the hotel anyway.

Only problem a large delegation of Chinese tourist, collapse the hotel front office resources. For family traveling in car good enough, more so comming from a Venice hotel.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

On April 19th, I left Faduz, Liechtenstein at 8.00 o'clock and arrived at Fussen at 13.57 by train. Of course, I was going to visit Schloss Neuschwanstein as almost all people do here. There was a young woman at the reception and she told me that there' s a bus for Hohenschwangau every 10 minutes. My guide book says that a bus starts almost every one hour. Then if so, I thought it's lucky. And she gave me a discount ticket when used to buy an entrance tickect. I asked her how much is a normal ticket and how much is a discount. She and her female boss sit at the back also couldn't answer. I went to the bus stop in front of the raiway station and found No.78 bus starts almost every one hour. I also found normal entrance fee is 11 Euro and one Euro discount. When I came back to the hotel, I told her the fact of bus frequency and the fee. I just wondered why they (she and her boss) didn't know such basic items about Fussen. Was she a new figure just started working from that day? It elapsed more than four months from that day and now I hope the hotel train her to be able to work well. There was a small ploblem at the reception, on the other hand there was a good service for breakfast at the restaurant. Anyway there was a big difference in ability of the reception people between this hotel and Steigenberger Hotel, Berlin.

During my recent trip throughout Germany in April 2012 my colleague and I came upon this Hotel which was very attractive in Füssen after a very long day driving from Berchtesgaden on our way toward Lahr. First the pluses. The room was very clean though we were housed in the roof area with a considerable walk from the main area of the Hotel. The room had a slanted ceiling which I found, at 6 ft 1, a bit troublesome but not insurmountable. The room was quite large. We decided to try the in-house restaurant as we had on a number of other stops and found the fare tasty and plentiful though a bit on the expensive side. It must be said that during our two week trip we did not find any beer that was not good. Now for the negative side. I was quite taken aback when I was presented with the Bill for accommodation in the morning which amounted to 180 Euro for one night. To say that we will not be back would be the understatement of the year. During our two weeks we stayed at a very comfortable Hotel in Berlin at 120 Euros not far from the Centre, a very nice Hotel in the centre of Bonn at 90 Euros and paid the same amount in Hamburg. Suffice to say, I am disappointed in this location. On the way out of town I also found it quite difficult to actually leave the area due to a remarkable lack of direction signs on the Highway.

Room Tip: Check the actual room by having a good luck at it and then ensure that you know exactly what you wil...
