“Fun and affordable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

The hotel is a small and funky hotel that provides a great affordable place in Fussen. The hotel has several rooms, a computer/ lounge area and a breakfast room. Maria greeted warmly us upon arrival and was very helpful about directions around the town. I was travelling with my sister and her family and had reqested a single room. I was pleasently suprised when they put me in a quad so I would be on the same floor as my sister and her family. The hotel was quiet and very clean. The decor was fun and a bit quirky, which is why it was so different. I'd definately recommend the hotel and would definately stay there again.

I stayed in Hotel Fantasia for two beautiful days and thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. The hotel is located just 2 minutes walk from the Fussen railway station. On arrival, I was greeted by a warming smile and a lot of helpful information on what I could do in Fussen other than the castles. The room (a single one) was small but had space for a nice Desk and some wardrobe. It was also done in cheering colors.
The hotel offers a small library from where you can borrow books. The only small glitch in the place was that there was no restaurant in the hotel, though they did offer a nice cold breakfast spread for relatively low costs. However a few restaurants were present close by.
The location of this place is great with minutes walk away from the main streets of old town and the river.

I really loved the Hotel and wished we had been staying for more than one night. We had room 18, a comfort double room on the 1st floor. It had a set of 3 bunk beds, lots of wardrobe space and a great double bed which was very comfortable. There was a sofa and table and chairs plus a flat screen tv. The double bed had two single duvets, typically European. We had a balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. The bathroom was on the small side but perfectly adequate. The hotel is right by the town and very close to the castles. There is free parking.

We paid €8 per person for breakfast which we thought was excellent value for the wide choice and amount on offer. We also really liked the dining room, its chandeliers and the fantastic computer room next to it, loved the colours, the chairs, furniture, everything about it. I was sad to leave. We paid when we checked in so checking out was simply leaving the key at reception. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a Balcony overlooking the gardens, however there is no lift, which wasn't a...

We stayed 2 night at this hotel. Mariana at reception is so helpful for any tips around town,King Ludwigs castleq and rests etc. we walked in off the street as we had read good reviews however they only had one room left with a broken shower. We were told to come back in an hour and we're able to leave our car and walk into the centre square which was only a 2 Min walk. When we came back she had a bigger room for us which was very clean and modern.Being the first room downstairs it was a little noisy with the front door but would stay here again and recommend this hotel.the breakfast wasn't included but was only 8 euro each.we were able to do a load of washing here which was really helpful with a little one.

My husband and I stayed at the Fantasia for one night in May 2012. I had stayed at another hotel in Fussen 10 years ago, but decided to try a new place this time around. The hotel is so close to the train station (about a 3 minute walk) and equally close to the downtown of Fussen with shops, restaurants, etc. I had booked a "comfort" level room, rather than classic, because the website said it came with a partial balcony. However, we were placed in room #1, which was on the first floor right next to the entry to the hotel...no balcony. Our room had one queen bed and two twin beds (one as a bunk above the queen), which was more sleeping options than we needed for the two of us! So, if there are just two people, I would recommend that you save yourself the money and just book a classic room. The WiFi worked well, and the bathroom was immaculate and totally updated. The mattress was okay as far as comfort goes but a little bit thin and lumpy. Breakfast is not included in the room rate, so we went to a local cafe for pastries and coffee, which only cost us about 3 euro total compared to the 8 euro per person cost for breakfast at the hotel.

Room Tip: Room #1 can sleep 4 people comfortably but does not have a balcony and is near the entry.

We love Fantasia Hotel! We stayed here May 6-8, 2012 and had a great time.

We stayed in room 1 which is on the first floor and our window looks out through the main gate of the hotel. Very good view! Since there's no elevator and we have 2 luggage, this worked best for us. The only pro in staying in this room is that you hear people come and go since it's right next to the main door. It didn't really bother us but I can how it can to other people.

Sister-hotel is "Hotel Sonne".

Pros:
-Free Wifi Internet (There are also 2 computers you can use for free in the lounge area in the basement)
-Big rooms
-Very Clean
-Perfect location, very close to the center, maybe 2-3 mins walk
-Close to a regular grocery store called "Netto"
-Staff are very friendly. Marianna in the front desk gave us a lot of info about the area.
-You may borrow a blow dryer, iron and a water heater for tea/coffee.
-Free use of laundry machine! (self service of course)

They don't include breakfast buffet and parking in the hotel reservation price.
We paid €8 p/person for the breakfast buffet and parking is €4 p/day.

I would highly recommend this hotel.
