I can recommend this place to anyone - the food is good, service great, ambience nice and the brunch on a Sunday is fantastic.

“Return visit... just as good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

First stopped here in 2010... enjoyed the meal then and enjoyed the meal (lunch , not dinner) this time. A beautiful place directly across from The Old Church (DOM) and well worth the effort...I had the Ofenfrischer Schweinebraten in Dunkelbiersosse mit Bayrisch Kraut und Reibeknodel... in other words, pork roast with potates ! :-) ... Nice place to go. Rather expensive.

“Great ambiance, can't say the same about food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

This restaurant is right across St. Dom, the old cathedral in Regensburg. It is really quite a lovely restaurant, I really felt the historicism of the place. We were a group of 10, so the waiters were really generous and kind when serving us. We all ordered pasta and sausage - the pasta wasn't so great, but the sausage was good! I'd definitely recommend it if you want a scenic/calming atmosphere.

“Dinner in historical ambiance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

We booked a table for the New Year's party in Heuport. Parts of the building date from as far back as the 12th century, the newest section is "only" some 300 years old, so one can definitely enjoy a historical atmosphere. The restaurant has several rooms, the largest of them also hosting the live band. If you wish to enjoy the music, then choose this room, as the other ones are virtually silent. The seats next to the window have a magnificent view over the Cathedral, but come with stone sitting banks and untight windows, so in winter it's quite unpleasant, in summer it may be welcome.

The menu was sophisticated (among others: Gorgonzola Dolce on Tomato carpaccio with tartar of smoked salmon and South Tyrol bacon, grilled Beef filet with a red wine gravy, baby carrots and green beans, chocolate cannelloni filled with raspberry creme, amaretto sabayonne and walnut mousse) and the staff was quite fast and attentive (let's not forget that there were 100+ guests to be more or less simultaneously served!).

I think for a lunch it might be an overkill, but it would for sure make for a nice dinner!

“Beautiful old dining hall across from the cathedral”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2011

Large, old (1300's) dining hall restored beautifully. High timbered ceilings, large, textured windows, great atmosphere and decorated festively at Christmas time. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Average main course meal was around 18-20 Euros. The meals were typical Bavarian offerings, to include pork filets with muchroom gravy, pork knuckle, spatzle, noodle dumpling, and salad. Cost for five adults with drinks, wine, etc. was about 125 euros. But, the dining experience was worth the price.
