We stayed for three nights and left on the 31st May 2013 just as the rivers were breaching the banks.... Lucky for us. It is certain that this hotel plus the eateries that we used during the stay were covered in 30 foot of water. I'm sure this hotel will be back to normal in due time.
The staff were friendly and helpfull, breakfast great. It was typical of a quality small German hotel, so no surprises here, older profile of German couples and groups out to explore and enjoy in their older age the interesting places of Germany. The room was great, well appointed and very good.
Wifi was the only let down with a variable service. The issue seemed to be one router placed on the first floor above the reception. The signal did not manage to get very far between public rooms and bedrooms with the thick walls blocking out the signal. Thus it just needs more routers / repeaters placed about the building and all would be fine if ADSL was fast enough if they are not on cable. Cable would be better. Skype out telephone service let alone video was disrupted and proved pretty useless.
Hopefully the hotel will be back on its feet pretty soon after the 2013 floods.
