“totally stuffed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

Found by accident wandering around looking for lunch before heading back to the airport. True hearty Franconian Cuisine. I really didnt expect so much for the price - three pork medallions, and a great wad of wild mushrooms - You realise how much you are ripped off whe eating out in London sometimes, the portion would have fed atleast two if not more.

“Good local food in Nuremberg”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

This is a lovely restaurant serving local food with a good variety of game to choose from as well as the usual offerings. Service is punctual and friendly. You can choose between the restauarant upstairs or the cellar downstairs ( evenings only I think ).
I have been here on 2 separate visits and greatly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service.
Very good value as the portions are huge !!

“A place where the locals take their guests”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

An interesting restaurant with many old time articles being displayed and hanging from the ceiling. The food is of the region, pork haxe and bakkes (potato pancakes) are the specialty. Service was good and prices moderate.

“Go somewhere else!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

After one and three quarter hours the main courses had not arrived. We were then told that one of the meals was sold out. Nobody thought to ask what we'd like as a replacement! They obviously intended serving 3 people and the fourth would be left without a meal. Absolutely incredible.
We decide to leave. We paid for our drinks. I'd have thought any self respecting restaurant would have waived at least some of those charges, but no! What shocking service.

“Great fun for a group dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

A stereotypical dinner in a medieval German setting. A brick lined cellar withe weapons on the wall, this was an enjoyable setting with traditional German offerings for food and drink.
