“Nice family place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

This place is the center of Nürnberg and less than 10 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof. Room and bathroom were very clean with WiFi connections and very good morning breakfast with full variety for the very reasonable price!

Stuff extremely nice :)

the only minus is that all rooms are on the 3rd floor and higher, so it means a long walk to the top of the stairs - no elevator available.
But from the other side it is very quiet,
Highly recommend!!!

“Finest place we've stayed in anywhere in Europe in years”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

This place is wonderful: right in the center of Nürnberg and less than 10 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof. Our room was absolutely clean with wonderful bathroom, had premier WiFi connections and very good morning breakfast with full variety including salmon - lachs. We did not eat other meals there.

All room are on the 3rd floor and higher above street level so it is fairly quiet, but it does mean a long walk to the top of the stairs - no elevator available. The host, however, instantly got young people to carry our heavy luggage up and down, so there was no problem. And our helpers refused any tip - as the host had paid them instantly.

Add to all the above, the price was extremely reasonable! We highly recommend!!!
.

Room Tip: Not hard to find except to get to the stairway, you go in a hall way leading to a very smoky casino...

“Great for short stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

Stayed here for one night whilst on business.
We arrived close to midnight and were a little concerned with the entrance being so close to the casino and having to pass several smokers sitting on the floor. After climbing several flights of stairs with bycycles on them, were relieved at the sight of the hotel.
Very nice people running the hotel and we were quickly shown to our rooms which were of a reasonable size and perfectly good for a few nights. Exceptionally clean with a spotless bathroom and shower (much better than staying in any Ibis!! Plenty of sockets and flat screen TV. Apparantly there is wifi but it wasnt used and so cannot comment.
Following a reasonable night sleep (bed / pillow not the most comfortable in the world but okay) we were greated with an excellent breakfast - boiled egg, yoghurts, plate of fresh meats and fresh cheese as well as smoked salmon and fresh bread. They even said we could take some fruit away with us.
Unbelievable value for money (we felt like we should have paid more) and would definitely return.

“Nice rooms, nice folks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

Recommendation from Information Desk outside Hauptbahnhof - we had two rooms - a double bed and a single bed. Both rooms had very adequate showers w/excellent water pressure. Bathrooms had typical towel warmers and soap/shampoo provided.

The beds were very firm but the pillows were extremely flat (as most German pillows tend to be). Our rooms were quiet and we were able to sleep with the window open all night.

Our stay was over Easter weekend and we had the loveliest baskets of eggs and chocolates in our rooms when we got in Saturday evening. So unexpected and absolutely wonderful!

Breakfast was plentiful to include variety of breads, meats, cheeses, juices, cold cereals and soft boiled eggs. The coffee was excellent. We started each day delightfully full and needed only snack for lunch. Quite a value.

The only two negative comments - someone smoked in the hallways although the smell never entered our rooms. AND, the Pension was on Sex Alley - strip clubs, sex shops, etc - which provided us with some interesting conversation as we walked in and out of the hotel.

Finally, our train left at 0530 on our day of departure and the owner gladly got up and fixed us breakfast for our departure. Totally unnecessary but certainly appreciated.

Overall a wonderful stay.

“Nice stay in Nurnberg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012

Excellent solution for both leisure and business trips. The Hotel Keiml is very close to the perimeter of the old city wall, nearby the Nurnberg railway station. So, a great position if you want visit the nice city of Nurnberg, if you are there for business or both! Don't get disoriented by the appearance: the hotel has a small sign and an entrance shared with another activity. The rooms are at the second floor and there is no elevator. But already on the stairs you see that everything is new, clean and well maintained. Just after the door the warm welcome of Frau Keiml and of her colleagues stops any doubt. Our double room was big enough and with all comforts. Judments for morning breakfast risk to be reductive: excellent, big, of great variety and served in a nice environment. Set aside some time to enjoy the breakfast. We appreciated the effort for a breakfast service out of the service time to cope with our hard travel plan. One note for the car parking: you can freely parks around in the evening and in the night. During the day the nearby railway station parking can be used (fee is requested).
