“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Easy to walk into the centre and hotel is near the Main Train Station - go over to the Grand Hotel turn right keep walking 5-6 Mins - like wise same distance to city centre. Rooms are very nice and comfortable and clean - staff very helpful and friendly - I will look out for these hotels in the future

Room Tip: We asked for a quite room and thats exactly what we got

...I will say the place is conveniently located - literally a five minute walk up the road from the main train station and an easy walk to the city centre.

It's certainly not a flash joint - it's simple but clean - perhaps a little more simple than you might expect from a 4-star.

The service isn't anything to write home about either - fairly indifferent staff... One night we arrived back at the hotel and saw a weird, creepy, scraggy looking bloke wandering the hallway and trying to peer in under people's doors. We entered our room. He then proceeded to knock on our door every ten minutes. We'd ask who was there, he'd say nothing, though we could see the shadow of his feet at the base of the door. Fairly creepy. He'd eventually vanish, but he'd be back again 10 minutes later. Eventually, with the girlfriend a little creeped out, we called reception and informed them of the situation. The response we received was simply "I think it's just someone causing mischief. I wouldn't worry." And it was left it at that. No offer to come up and sort it out and make sure everyone on the floor was safe.

The rooms are OK... the 'double bed' was two singles pushed together with separate duvets, but the room itself was clean and an alright size.

There are only two English speaking tv stations - CNN and a movie channel, which is fine - you're not on holidays in Germany to watch TV, however the night before an early train ride to Munich we wanted to stay in and watch a movie. The channel was frozen - audio but no video - so we called up to see if it could be reset. "Sorry, we don't know how to fix that."

I need to stress here - it wasn't that the problem couldn't be fixed that irked me, it was more the attitude that the staff couldn't really care less about trying to solve the issue. Can't comment on the breakfast part from the fact it's expensive at €21 per person, per morning - so we decided to avoid it.

All in all, basic but clean, very convenient but don't expect brilliant service.

Nothing too terrible to say about the place, but I wouldn't stay again.

I stayed 1 night with my girlfriend during non-congress days. For about 60 euro we got a 2p room, which is completely worth it. When there are events happening in Neuremberg, the prices will be way higher.
The hotel is about 5 minutes walking from the start of the old city. It does have an own parking garage for 15 Eur a night.
The rooms have the typical lay-out and are big enough for two. The only problem is the bathroom: the door opens inside, so, you can't be in the bathroom with two people at a time.
Also, there is no wifi in the room; which is hard for the MacBook Air / Iphone generation. Internet with a wire is apparently for free. In the lobby there is free wifi; but the makes you have deja-vu's to the 56k modem times.
The beds were nice and the room was rather clean (except for some big stains on the window). Breakfast is 24 euro (you are <5 minutes away from the train station which offers you plenty for less).
O yeah, and we found something in the room which resembled a TV; but there was something strange and big on the back of the tv; which made it look like a box ;)
But hey, for that price it was great!

Room Tip: At the train-track-front rooms you don't hear anything: not a problem.

This NH Hotel is very close to the central station of Nuernberg city as well as old town, where you can just walk to. There are quite a lot of international guests staying at that hotel and the hotel staff speaks English. The hotel rooms are nice and modern decorated. You shouldn`t miss eating a Nuernberger Bratwurst while staying in this city.

I booked this hotel as a secret hotel through the lastminute.com site and was delighted! Excellent value (34.50euro for a king room for 1 night), central location right beside the train station and the centre. The hotel itself is modern and the rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. The staff are extremely friendly and cheerful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Having stayed recently at this hotel, it was a good choice wrt to being close to train stations and walking distance to most restaurants, shops etc nearby, as I was here mainly on business.
Everything at the hotel was as expected, clean, friendly, price was right, great breakfast inclusive of the price.

However here is the glitch, NH Nurnberg hotel is primarily a business hotel with good sound proof rooms and a basic gym with great spa facilities, yet what floors me is the lack of internet and the charge for usage of wireless in lobby area only??? Should you wish to use internet in your room, they will happily give you a LAN line cable to connect free of charge???? Who really uses LAN lines at all anymore, since my laptop does not have this old feature anymore, I was left stranded and found my way to Starbucks for a free 2 hours. And why then charge for wireless in the lobby area if you get free internet in your room which you cannot use due to lack of new technology?

Another interesting observation was the old box square TV? I have not seen one of those in a hotel room in about 6 years. Yet everything else in the room was modern and great. Also I suggest you place gowns and slippers in the rooms instead of having to request this from reception every time, would be a nice attribute to complete the room.

Come guys, get with the latest of modern inventions, I assure you that business wise your customers will be happier.

Stylishly decorated and comfortable room (though possibly on the small side). Very pleasant service especially the nice lady in the bar. Five minutes walk to station and city so well located for everything. This is obviously a business hotel ( hence high price of breakfast which we didn't try - go to station or city instead as no shortage of good places) but very comfortable and good for tourist visit as well as we got a good deal on price. Recommended.
