“Ehmmm....yes well, OK if you don't expect to learn anything.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Well it was interesting for about 5 minutes. If you know nothing about the period or the trials, you'll be fine but for me it was very much about experiencing the room, the space and the import of what happened. The educative value is minimal. The experience, something else.

“Comprehensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

You need to set aside a fair amount of time if you are taking the audio tour, 2-3 hours. This is a comprehensive history lesson which is a little hard going to get through, but you will appreciate the detail at the end. A sobering experience.

“Get's you thinking!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

As with all German attractions of this theme, very tastefully done. Viewing the courtroom itself is quite overwhelming when one considers the history that took place there. Following this is an excellent exhibition upstairs, which gives a thorough yet balanced account of events and leaves visitors with a lot to ponder over. Also, the free audio-guide is more than adequate for those whose German isn't quite up to scratch! Enjoyed it being reasonably quiet as it made the experience a lot more personal.

“Questions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

The courthouse leads you to think about difficult questions - was this justice ? was it right ? was there a better way of dealing with such people and such a situation ? - that are important now too.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

We went to this museum on a very hot day via the local tram so it was nice to go inside where it was cool - there was a restaurant but we didn't purchase any food just a bottle of water each - most essential. We had the translation audio and walked round for about an hour and a half both listening and looking at the exhibitions and eventually the courtroom - which was a real step back in time. We found this a very good account of the rise of Hitler and marveled really how he managed to dupe most of a nation - it is a part of their history which they are not, quite rightly, proud but, we thought, it was presented in a very honest and unbiased way and we learn't a lot about Hitler's reign and the suffering of the ordinary German people which, we didn't know before. Quite surprisingly kids enjoyed it too (aged 11 and 9) - only getting bored towards the end. We would recommend a visit if you enjoy recent history.
