“Great location, friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

Stayed here on a business trip. Great location in the medieval town, lots of restaurants and taverns nearby. Room not good for working in as it was quite dark and the chair was a bit rickety, and wouldn't fit under the table so I worked in the lobby, on the leather sofa. Wifi was slow but ok.
No lobby service during the day, but they open the bar in the evening. Breakfast very good, nice selection of teas.

this is perfectly located, close to shops and restaurants, but not too close. The street is very quiet. If you travel in Europe, this is exactly what you should expect for the price. Clean room, not fancy. No marble. Small bed. The food is, well... not great. Eat elsewhere.

I arrived very early on a flight from the US. The room was not yet ready, however the wait was short and I was attended with refreshments while I waited. Very attentive staff. After a short rest and refresh. I was exploring the beauty of the old city. Directly next to the Duerer House and the Castle. A very enchanting local.

Room Tip: While our room was nothing fancy, it was in a great location, comfortable bedding and windows facing...

Booked to visit the Christmas Markets. A great location, 5 mins walk to the edge of the markets and good selection of restaurants near by. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful with any requests made. Breakfast had a nice variety of meats, cheese and of course their fantastic breads and rolls. Hot choice also available with sausages, eggs, bacon etc. We upgraded our room which was good value. The room had a bedroom area, a sofa bed and a dining room table that would seat 6 people. Nice to relax after a busy day at the markets with a glass of wine in the room before going out for dinner. Beds were a very good quality however pillows very soft but you can get extra pillows from reception on request. Toiletries in bathroom were good quality. Our room had a mini fridge which was good to keep some fresh milk in! Kettle and usual coffee tea etc in room. No ironing facilites in the room. There is no safe in the room however if you ask at reception there are small safes behind reception that you can use free of charge. Note these are not large enough to keep your ipad in.

Room Tip: Upgrade if you can, our room had a dinning table that seated 6 people.

hotel is located in the old city. Nearby a lot of pubs, nice rests and there is a perfect starting point for city trips. Hotel is not cheap but stuff is very helpful and friendly, breakfest perfect, rooms .... good. Sauna inside the hotel, parking (tiefgarage,a bit crazy:) with sufficient number of places. Hotel or parking is not so easy to finde, this is old city and a lot one way street in the area... In any case if youare looking for good accom in Nürnberg, this si the good choice

Given the opportunity of a business meeting demanding 2 days full in magic Nuernberg, we stayed 3 nights in Duerer hotel. I chose this hotel on purpose as it is situated inside the walls of the old "magic" city of Nurnberg just aside the Kaiserburg castle and 50 meters away from Albrecht Duerer's house, city's honored great German painter. As the airport is very near the city, the access to hotel by taxi is quick and cheap. My wife and I, arrived rather early in the morning and our room was not yet free for us. Hotel's 2 concierge ladies-dressed in traditional Bayerisch way- in a swift and very polite way received our luggage, helped us to freshen up and helped us out with all important information regarding the old city center. All important places to see and visit are in a walking distance of maximum 20 minutes from Duerer hotel. In 10 minutes we were inside the fantastic toy museum, then meters away the Hauptmarkt with an unforgetable event just happening there, with a visit to the unbelieveable Germanisches National Museum to finish our walking exploration of the first day! When we returned to our "home-hotel" we found our luggage already in our room at the exact floor we asked for! For our dinner, we immediately found Hutt'n Wirtshaus in a distance of 100 meters from hotel where we had the best Frankonia (northern Bavaria) German food (pork of course). The breakfast in this hotel is absolutely fantastic with lots of choices. The highest points for this hotel are its great personnel and its strategic position in Nuernberg. My only suggestion is to add one "harder" pillow at least in the room, as I had to put my bag below my pillow...

Room Tip: Ask for a harder pillow, if available and a lighter (and less warm) bed cover. The computer terminal...

Well situated for all the classic sights of Nuernberg within the atmospheric old city walls, although if you are arriving by car be aware that on-street parking is very restricted here and you will have to pay to use the hotel's car park.

Friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast with diverse options, pleasant and spotless bedroom, comfortable lounge and small courtyard garden for our three night stay. The price was good value considering the prime location.

The only downer was the absence of air conditioning in temperatures that ranged around 35 C - the fan provided was not equal to the task. The receptionist explained that the hotel's location in a sensitive conservation area meant planning permission could not be obtained to install air con units. That is something to bear in mind if visiting in July or August, when it can get pretty hot in south Germany.

Room Tip: For a quiet room, ask for one facing the courtyard - there can be some street noise late at night fr...
