“Great location to explore the Christmas market”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

We recently spent two nights here during the Christmas markets. The main market square is maybe 5 minutes away, just on the other side of St. Sebald. The location made it really easy to go back to the room and drop off our purchases and put our feet up before heading back out.

The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet is good, and they also have a little bar for an evening beverage or two.

We will stay there again; welcoming staff, comfortable bed, clean, excellent Continental breakfast.
ESSENTIAL: if you have any finer feelings, take sticky tape and an old newspaper to cover and block the ridiculous and immodest window between the toilet and the bed. Why don't they paint them over?

This small cozy hotel is right in the old-town of Nuernberg. The hotel rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is served in the morning and quite good. You get German-style breakfast in a buffet. The staff is nice and it is just a small walk to the city center and also close to the castle.

We only stayed one night right before our river cruise in the beginning of November. Bedroom was comfortable and breakfast was great with a large selection of choices and quite a few staffers refilling and cleaning up. The location is awesome right near the castle and very close to some great restaurants in the Old City.
The hotel is well maintained and the people at the front desk were very helpful. Having wi-fi was a big advantage.

We stayed here for one night before a river cruise.

Property location is excellent. It is near the Albrecht Durer House, and a short walk to the market square. It seems a very safe area, and there were restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel public areas are attractive and well-maintained. There is a breakfast buffet, which is very good, although not free.

Our room was on the top floor. It was very clean, but the elevator does not go to the top floor, and it was oddly laid out, with the bathroom accessible by climbing four or five steps. There was a lovely patio, with a view of the Kaiserburg castle.

The stairs did not turn out to be a problem, as our baggage did not arrive in Nuremberg when we did (which is why we usually arrive the day before the cruise). The front desk staff was very helpful in communicating with the airline's lost luggage office, and storing our luggage after checkout in their very restricted space behind the desk, while we did a little more sightseeing before heading to the port to meet the ship.

All in all, a very good stay, and I would recommend the Agneshof.

I booked this hotel because of its location in the old part of the town. Due to reasons too complicated to retell we had to hire a car for our stay. Be very careful about the height of your hire car as parking is restricted. During our stay the car was damaged in the car park by a careless guest so take out extra insurance! The hotel was clean and tidy but our room was tiny with the most bizarre window in the bathrom that overloked the bed so you could see your companion on the toilet. If you drape the showeur curtain over the towel hooks it gives a modicum of privacy. We overlooked the front of the hotel and it was quite noisy and the very small thin curtains did not keep out the street lighting. We hung our towels over the curtain rail to keep out most of the light. The proximity of our room to the lift made the use of earplugs essential. Each morning we had a little chocolate on our pillow but it would have been nicer to have a bottle of water as we had when we first arrived. There are no tea making faciities but if you buy a flask they will fill it for you.
Breakfast was excellent and the locaton was superb, lots of fab resturatnts for evening meals. The tourist information is only a short walk away too. We can recommend The Hutte for good value meals. Overall we enjoyed our stay and i have only remarked on the negatives so that you will be prepared for them. The staff were very helpful and we would certainly stay there again and recommend it wholeheartedly. I possibly would opt fot a larger room and a better view!

We stayed in this hotel in 2006, although I am reviewing it as part of our return trip to Nuremberg in Oct 2012. It is quite close to the Albrecht Durer Haus museum, as well as the castle. We arrived in Nuremberg by train, then took a bus to a nearby platz (plaza), and walked to the hotel on the small street Agnesgasse, named for Durer's wife. It is a small hotel, belonging to the Best Western group in Germany. Rooms and service were typical of this class of hotel and were fine.
