“Staff is very friendly but old and worn out bathrooms:-(”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

First we have to say that the staff is awesome!! Such friendliness is not common now a days. Unfortunately the hotel rooms are old and really worn out-specially the bathrooms are very old and moldy. The bathrooms need urgently a "renewal" specially the bathtubs. They had a kind of a "slip protection tape stripes " glued on and they were already black from the "dirt"....just gross. I would rip them out because they are so gross. The breakfast was very delicious and absolute fabulous with a great variety!

Hilton Nurmeberg is a typical rip off. Business users should avoid coming here altogether. The internet is 9 Euros for phone wifi and 13 Euros for laptop per night and even then you will be lucky to get 0.5 mbps speed. Rooms are dimly lit and they are still using shower curtains :(

No complimentary sleepers. No breakfast. Too far from the town. Nothing that can make you feel good about your stay

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel in the area

Dear SledgeFire,

first of all thanks for having stayed at the Hilton Nuremberg. We are really sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the internet connection in the hotel and the light in the room. Of course we offer a Hilton Breakfast Buffet every morning in our breakfast restaurant and there are also slippers and bathrobes available upon request. City Center you can reach within 15 minutes by public transportation. We hope you will give us another chance in future to show you we improved.
Kind regards,

This is a nice Hilton on the outskirts of Nuremberg and offers peace and quiet. Plus, the parking is ample and free in front of the building.

The place looks a little dated but is thoroughly clean and that counts for a lot. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I was looking forward to a comfortable stay. My status was recognized with a "herzlich Willkommen" which was nice but I should imagine every guest gets a hearty welcome, status or no status. As this property does not have an executive lounge, I was offered one free glass of house wine or beer in the bar. One free glass, that was it. I was hardly bowled over.

My room was on the third floor with a double bed, but with two single duvets - which I hate, but I know this is commonplace in German properties. However, as a Hilton, I would expect a double duvet. If the Hilton properties in Munich can offer a big duvet, I do not understand why this Hilton, some 180km away, cannot.

There was a standard letter in my room from a hotel manager thanking me for my loyalty, under which was a tiny box of cappuccino chocolates. Normally, I would expect a bottle of wine and a fruit platter or something a little more substantial. But not at this hotel, no. You just get manufactured truffles and that one glass of house drinks in the bar downstairs.

I asked about a fitness centre and the staff said I could go for a run in the forest outside. Not at 9pm and in the freezing cold, I answered. They then said there was a gym but it was tiny. And there is no sauna or steamroom.

I tried to use the stairs to get down from my room but the door is alarmed so you have to take the elevators. Once I got back down to the gym, it was small but it was fine. Mind you, half of the cardio apparatus (treadmills etc) do not work, you need a "magnet"(?) for them, according to the display.

Hotel wifi is done using the awful Swisscom service and their stupid vouchers with usernames and passwords. Only one voucher per device, too. The speeds are not fast unless you pay to upgrade to their business service, which is outrageously priced. In this day and age, wifi should be fast. This hotel's wifi is not.

Breakfast in this property is the best bit. The staff were lovely and the choice comprehensive. You will not go hungry if you opt for the breakfast.

So, in summary, a great place if you fancy a great breakfast and free parking. Not so good if you expect nice amenities such as a nice gym, a lounge or decent recognition of HH Diamond status.

I will be returning to this property soon to check if anything changes.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 3rd floor

Dear Ascottowers,

thank you very much for your loyalty towards the Hilton Brand. We are sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied with your stay here at the Hilton Nuremberg. It is true that you cannot get up with the stairs due to security reasons but it is possible to come down the stairs (without an alarm). What concerns our gym we do have a partnership with the rehabilitation center next door and their machines need magnets which they provide to our guests during their working hours. All the more we are happy that you enjoyed our breakfast and our free parking.
We are looking forward to welcome you soon again so that we can also offer you an improved impression.

Kind regards,

Very nice hotel in a very historic (post WWI) area of Nuremburg. Adjacent to preWWII historicial sites and the Nuremburg Soccer Team training faciltiy and stadium Highly recommend ...but service in the bar/lounge could use improvement.

Not sure if all the rooms are the same or if the suits have been upgraded. This used be another hotel which Hilton bought but did not convert to a real Hilton yet. Amazing it's a Hilton as it doesn't qualify as true Hilton hotel as per the Hilton ranking. When in Nuremberg the place to be in the Meridien, ideally in a junior suite or suite.

Room Tip: Maybe the suites have been upgraded?

The staff was rude. The hotel restaurant is wildly overpriced and the service is terrible. The gym isn't great, no free weights and you have to have a special code to get the cardio machines to work which they don't give the guests. The mattresses are springy and lumpy. I'm surprised this hotel carries the Hilton brand name. Great breakfast, for what it's worth.

Dear dlgbte,

thank you for having stayed with us at the Hilton Nuremberg. We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your stay. I apologize for the things that could not keep up with your expectations. Our fitness area is shared with the rehabilitation centre next door and so some of the equipment belongs to them, but our guests can use them during their working hours.
Nevertheless we hope to welcome you soon again to show you we can do better.

We had two rooms, both of which were great. The food and staff were also great. The one big drawback was the lack of available equipment in the so-called fitness center. The center is run in conjunction with a Rehab company meaning only if they are there can you have access to all the equipment. So no early morning or evening availability. If this is important to you, look someplace else; otherwise great hote
