Being at the Hotel Victoria was a large part of what a wonderful time we had for our 5 nights' stay in Nuremburg. Other reviewer have mentioned the perfect location both for touring the old city, the number of restaurants, and the proximity to the train train. It is also just a few blocks from the Staatsoper and other performing arts halls. We splurged on getting the Logenplatz junior suite which was worth the money. It is the junior suite in the website pictures that has a lot of orange in it. There were 6 windows and a glassed door to the terrace so lots of light and ventilation when you want it. There was also a ceiling fan. The terrace would be really nice in the summer, but we didn't use it this time of year. The sitting area of the room was large, and comfortable and had lots of space to stow things. In addition to the soaking tub with hand held shower you can see in the website picture there is a very large shower in its own area with a rainshower showerhead. it was terrific. This room is big enough can easily sleep 4 as the sofa looked like it was a sleep sofa. We loved having all the space. The modern art museum is across a small open area. It has an all glass front so we got to enjoy the art from our windows even at night when it was lighted inside. One downside for some less able-bodied is that I don't think an elevator went to this suite as the staff helped us with getting our suitcases up a flight of stairs.
The room was very quiet. We never heard a sound from inside the hotel. When our windows were open we could hear the hellraising that went on Friday and Saturday nights until the wee hours. We got used to it, but we could have closed the windows. Sunday and Monday nights were absolutely still.
The hotel is impeccably clean and the bed linens have a good feel. The staff is terrific--they really want to please and do. In addition to a nice breakfast, they also will serve beer, wine, coffee specialties, and other beverages during the day and into the night. We often ended up there at night because they have some very nice sitting areas available. We had some trouble the first night getting some ice from the lady at the front desk, but other than that the staff was very obliging.
One of our favorite places to eat nearby was the Literatur Haus just a couple of blocks away. It served delicious French and German comfort food at very good prices and had one of the friendly and efficient staffs we've ever encountered. It became our go to place and was open til midnight.
I can't recommend this hotel enough. I did see inside one small room near ours which was well appointed, and from reviews it sounds like there are various sizes of rooms.
