“Clean and comfortable, but not very cheery”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2010

I've stayed at this hotel many times on numerous business trips. It's clean and comfortable and the breakfast spread is very good. The decor is, however, a bit dreary. Location is superb being both next to a large park and just the other side of the old town walls. Everything you need is within walking distance.

I had this hotel recommended to me but on my arrival for a three night stay I was repulsed by the diminutive bathroom, stark decor and shabby, dated appearance. Not exactly filthy but very worn, dreary, and badly in need of refurbishment. I do not wish to be unkind but I just could not have stay in this place, nor recommend it to anyone. To add insult to injury I was only offered a 20% refund for the nights that I cancelled. Caveat emptor.

excellent location, 10 mins walk into the centre. spacious & clean room with nice recently refurbished bathroom. excellent breakfast buffet in lovely room. suggest you park the car for free 500metres from the hotel otherwise meter payment is required across the street and for 2 hour maximum only. would recommend this hotel.

A nice hotel located in a quite green place within the walking access to the city center. Big comfortable room, reasonable price, good breakfast, even a Russian speaking receptionist! Parking is available for free in front of the hotel (very few parking places) or for a fee in the courtyard. There is a biergarten located in the park nearby, so one can spend a good evening there drinking excellent Bavarian beer. My husband and I liked this hotel very much. I would recommend Prinzregent to all types of tourists.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2005

My wife and I stayed at this hotel last week. It was recommended to us by the tourist agency near the train station and proved to be quite convenient. It's only one subway stop (or a 20-minute walk) from the train station.

When we got to the hotel, located in a beautiful scenic neighborhood along a river, I was initially concerned when the door was locked and we had to be buzzed in. Also, take note: There is a neon sign saying Hotel, but nothing that tells you the name of the hotel on the outside of the building. I was worried before I went in. After registering, I found out that the door is kept locked only because there is no one at the front desk in the overnight hours (after 10 pm). The neighborhood is very safe, and it's about two blocks to the city's Old Town.

This is an older, tourist-class hotel (*** in Germany), but the rooms are large and clean. The breakfast, always included in the rate, is typical for a German breakfast. I was very happy with our room and with the hotel's location.
