“Modest, quiet and inexpensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

This hotel had friendly, English-speaking staff at the desk (although sometimes busy in another room, so you had to ring the bell occasionally). Room for a single person had a single bed, space was small, spare and darkish, but clean. Bathroom also plain and clean. Not an American or international experience, it is particularly old-fashionedly German in its spare style.
But free wifi in the room, not just in the lobby. And a free, fulsome German- style breakfast: meat, cheese, muesli, breads, eggs, choices of teas and coffee, fruit.
It's across from a park, so it's quiet, but a minute away from the subway and only a stop away from the train station. You could walk 2 minutes and you cross under the old wall and could walk along a river path to the old town. 15 minutes walk away from the old part of downtown, but without tourists and noise.

I stayed here during the Brau Exhibition. Hotel is next to the U Bahn station, and just off the ring road. Ten minutes walk to the main station, and city centre. Hotel overlooks the river and a park, just outside city walls. Good breakfast too.

This hotel is a charming hotel close to the town center and transit system. The town center (very much a "must see" in Nuremberg!) is a quick 5 minute walk. The local light rail system is just down the street from the hotel entrance. There is a nice, large park across from the hotel for genial walks or jogging.

The rooms were large in comparison to other rooms this reviewer has had in Germany. The bathroom was small with only a stand-up shower (no tub) and the shower was somewhat small. Hot water took around three minutes to arrive in the shower, but was plentiful after the pipes had heated. The only complaint I had about the rooms is a set of controls for the room lights are mounted in the headboard of the bed. When turning in bed at night it was easy to push the switch and the lights would turn on.

The morning breakfast was a nice mix of local tastes, muffins, and cereal. Hot coffee was quickly brought to the table by the staff.

I found the staff to be very friendly and attentive to guest needs. Free internet is provided in the hotel, but be sure to ask for the access code (changed daily) at the front desk.

Overall, I would very happily stay here again.

I stayed here in late October for 2 nights. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms did not have good lighting, but clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy and size of room was quite adequate. The breakfast spread was more than enough. Location was near the university and old town which was very nice. I was very pleased with this quaint charming place!

I've stayed at this hotel many times on numerous business trips. It's clean and comfortable and the breakfast spread is very good. The decor is, however, a bit dreary. Location is superb being both next to a large park and just the other side of the old town walls. Everything you need is within walking distance.

I had this hotel recommended to me but on my arrival for a three night stay I was repulsed by the diminutive bathroom, stark decor and shabby, dated appearance. Not exactly filthy but very worn, dreary, and badly in need of refurbishment. I do not wish to be unkind but I just could not have stay in this place, nor recommend it to anyone. To add insult to injury I was only offered a 20% refund for the nights that I cancelled. Caveat emptor.

excellent location, 10 mins walk into the centre. spacious & clean room with nice recently refurbished bathroom. excellent breakfast buffet in lovely room. suggest you park the car for free 500metres from the hotel otherwise meter payment is required across the street and for 2 hour maximum only. would recommend this hotel.
