“Perfect service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2010

This is a really nice modern hotel just outside of the city walls of old Nuremberg, easy to reach by car and with an integrated parking garage. Yes, the style is plush 1980s, but sometimes this is nice, and the rooms were functional, modern, and well-equipped. Highlights included an incredibly friendly staff and the not very modern but rather large and long-open pool that allowed nice laps-swimming in the early morning and late evening. A perfect choice for Nuremberg.

I was accommodated in this hotel for one night in December 2009. It was a very crowded period of the year, the Christmas Fair in Nuremberg and, I must say, we found rooms at this hotel after trying to find in other 5 hotels, but we were lucky: It is a very good hotel with friendly staff and very good service.

We spent one night here en route to Vienna on a Great Rail Journey and would have liked longer. We had a very comfortable night, after acquiring extra pillows, and the air conditioning was very efficient in temps of over 30 degrees. Plenty of space, no noise as we were at the back, and a spacious, clean bathroom. Charging for Wifi was annoying, so we didn't bother - no hotel should be charging, especially if you have your own equipment! Our group evening meal was one of the best we had on the whole trip and the breakfast spread was magnificent with everything you could think of all beautifully laid out in bright airy surroundings. Proximity to the Station is a bonus if you are travelling by train, and the town is an easy walk away. If you don't have much time to see the sights, try the little land train from the Market Square which takes you round everything and leaves you wanting more! Make sure you visit the little "Handwerkerhof" craft sector opposite the railway station in the old City Walls.

The Maritim Hotel is located next to the Main Station or "Hauptbahnhof" with easy access to the Convention Center by underground and all of Europe by the German Deutsche Bahn (DB) railway. The hotel offers excellent value for money and outstanding service. The buffet breakfast spread is superb with even Sparkling Wine ! The staff at the restaurant are exceptionally energetic, polite, friendly and offer outstanding personalized prompt service. During the stay I wrote a congratulatory note to the management identifying a couple of the restaurant staff.

Stayed here during a work conference. Typical room, with nice wood decor and comfortable beds, but pillows were bit too soft. The breakfasts were varied and tasty, continental and cooked - great array of fruit juices and water as well. The bar is very expensive and fairly small - but the winner was the close proximity to the underground.

Its very close to an abundance of shops and restaurants.

Very good location, near the central station and just a short walk from the old city...
Service is very good. Friendly and efficient staff at the reception.

The hotel itself is like very 1980es... Gold, Brown and green are the dominant colors..
When you get out of the lift, the floor is dark, smelly and dusty, the carpet is full of stains.

My first visit to this hotel was around 8 years ago. Even then I thought, they should renovate.. Returning this month I was surprised that they still had those old rooms. The rooms are well maintained, but at least 20 years old.
Make sure you get a room to the back as the street in the front is very noisy.

Internet is a rip off.. 1 hour 8 € 24 hours 15 € come on... who is still paying for internet ???

Breakfast is very good with a huge choice of option.. The restaurant itself is again this 80es kind of thing, which I dont like.

At the reception they extra promote writing a review on tripadvisor.. So here you go Maritim. Please renovate !! There are loads of better options in Nuremberg !
