“Pretty Cool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

Went here for lunch as dinner was packed. Service was good. Had the pork with this amazing white wine mushroom sauce. Also had the potato pancakes. Definitely felt like a "German" restaurant so had a fun experience. They do have an English menu but ask for recommendations among the menu that's not translated.

“simply great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

we found this restaurant sitting on the bus, and as my husbands favourite food is potato we decided to give it a try the day after, on his birthday.

we arrived around nine and got half a table the other half was already taken by others.

the place is very small, nicely decorated, especially for christmas, with potato-shaped ornaments :)

the menu is funny, but german-only as far as I remember.

the food we had that evening (soup, boiled popatoes with matjes, and bratkartoffeln with garlic sheese and camambert) was so great that we decided to visit the day after aswell.

where at that point we realized how important it is to make a reservation :)

we arrived at 5 and got a table till max 7.

so make sure you have a reservation ;)

the food on the 2nd day was great aswell, but the best part was the dessert.
I could not find out what the secret ingredient for the marilleknödel (apricot dumplings) was but it was the best dessert I ever tasted.

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

we kept walking past this on our way from our hotel to the town and called in one day just out of interest. It is a real little gem. Very helpful staff and the food was good. They do have an English translation sheet but it doesn't cover all the menu so take your dictionary! Would definitely go back.

“Excellent food, super staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

The food and service were both excellent. The menu was long, and with an English cheat sheet. I went with the mixed grill, which could probably have fed two people. The waiter serving was very helpful, and spoke good English. Nice interior decoration as well.

“Can't resist a restaurant named Potato”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Owner has a great sense of humor, We sat under a large plant that had potatoes hanging from it, as if it were a "potato tree". Very attentive service and very good traditional fare made or a delightful evening.
