“Great Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

Visiting the city of Nuremberg is usually a challenge, as there are many restaurants to choice from - but only a few are good and friendly in service. Luckily we found one. The Bratwurst Roeslein has great service and friendly staff.
The beer is great (try the Kellerbier!!), food is good (no star level, but good regional food). The atmosphere is an old charming Bierkeller (beer cellar) with historic but also some new elements. You will feel quite comfortable in here.
And here the best part - the have a special play area for the little ones, where they have their own kitchen, tables, books, etc... Real cool. In fact is was that nice, that we went the next day again...

“Pork to Die For”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

We were looking for traditional German food and ordered the Pork Knuckle and Pork Shoulder. The pork falls off the bone. the crackling really crackles and the portions are huge. Great value for money if you have a hearty appetite. It was too much to have dessert after, even for me.

The restaurant is in traditional style, wood beams and panelling with open fireplaces -- with the food it's perfect for a cold wintry day, which is when we were there. Roslein is located just off the main market place, about two minutes walk, and is very popular so be sure to go early at regular mealtimes. However, it's a big place so you should have no trouble except at the very busiest seasons.

Prices were reasonable, particularly in view of the portions, and most tables sized for parties of four or more. We enjoyed all our meals in Europe but this one stands out as the best because it seems close to traditional tasty food.

The service, traditional dress on the waitresses of course, was prompt and friendly without being too quick for comfort. Also, the there are menus in English as well as German and French.

“Local tradition”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014 via mobile

A typical German restaurant - good modern design with traditional influences. Serving local beer and first-rate local cuisine. Sausage, Haxe, Schnitzel, Strudel -what more could you want?

Portions enormous - it is Bavaria, don't forget. Fast, friendly service. Exceptional quality.

The place is enormous, room after room cascading away behind the facade, all spotlessly clean an comfortably furnished.

Just go there. You will enjoy it!

“Best place to taste local food & to feel traditional atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Handy for Christmas market visitors, just next to the market place. Great atmosphere, mixing locals with foreign visitors. Tucher beer and local food, prepared in the best Franken tradition. Competent, well-managed & friendly service! Everything just like you expect it to be after long day of market shopping and gluehwein sipping! After having tried several similarly-looking places in the area during last years, I can still say: Bratwurst Roslein is the best!
