“Price Performance - Excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

The Motel One at Bahnhofstr. in Nürnberg is a very modern and clean hotel. Although being very close to the central train station, the rooms are absolutely quit. The service is fine. Just the breakfast offerings are limited.

Dont expect anything special, basic room to sleep in and thats it. The lobby is quite nice. Bed is good, for the most part Nuremberg is a city to do some sight seeing during the day and to party and drink at night. You need a good bed to crash in after a night out of heavy drinking.

I used to stay in this hotel several times during 2010-2011. Rooms are very small. But bed is comfortable. Bathroom is perfectly equipped for this king of budget hotel. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is just ok (except coffee - it is far away from "ok").
Considering the price and good location close to train station and city center this is good hotel for money it cost.

We have stayed at Motel Ones in other German cities so we decided to stay in the city center one in Nuernberg recently. All Motel Ones are not created equal. This one had a small room, less amenities and designer touches than the nice one in Munich where we usually stay. A big disappointment was that upon leaving the train station you turned to the right and walked in the opposite direction from the center of the city to reach the hotel. At night when walking back to the hotel you had to pass a gauntlet of people sitting outside on the curb drinking and smoking from the very large hostel across the street. This hotel is not in the best part of town. A positive note was that they were very attentive in the reception area because, quite honestly, they didn't have that many guest to attend to--as judged by the one person staffing reception and the light attendance at breakfast the following morning.

We went to the Motel One and the front desk guy was quite the character. When we asked why they had one rate on the sign and why he wanted to charge us 10 euro more, he sent us down the street to the other Motel One. He was rude and snotty. The other hotel had truthful rates and the front desk guy knew the other guy and said he was rude and he knew it since he used to date him.

But the rooms were fine, the internet was fine, everything was fine. Can't expect too much from these pretty decent prices.

I skipped the breakfast which is a bit pricey for not too much!

Room Tip: The one downtown is the cheaper one.

Motel One was a pleasant surprise, even being used to budget hotels. The room was big enough and the bathroom was very clean. Nice towels and good shower. Breakfast was good enough for the price. For the value it´s a great choice. The staff was very friendly and helpful too.
