I felt sorry for some of the animals being enclosed in such small and unnatural spaces, especially the Dolphins. The layout itself is quite nice and there is a diverse range of animals, although there are a lot better Zoos around the world. The facilities are good.

“Nice Venue and Parkland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

Built in an area of parkland, the visit to the zoo offerred an opportunity to take a pleasant walk whilstv vieing a range of animal species. If there is a correct approach to keeping animals in captivity, then Nuremburg is the way forward.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

I am very happy that I had opportunity to visit this zoo. I had wonderful time here. Everything was very nice, but I especially loved manatees! ♥ Dophine show was so so so funny! :) The botanic part was the best, I took many pictures there. I recommend this friendly zoo to everybody!

“Fun for everyone of all ages!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

Took the tram from Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof to the zoo, fantastic to ride through the trees directly to the zoo entrance. Good price for entry and very clean. A fantastic variety of animals to look at, we especially enjoyed the dolphins. A nice selection of food available in the restaurant, again very clean and friendly, helpful staff. Really enjoyed our day out, lots to see. Toilets also very clean and well presented.

“Large Area with a number of Absent Popular Species”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

We loved this zoo and rated it among the best we have ever seen for animal habitats. This is certainly not a prison for animals as some zoos we have seen. A few of the smaller species have the run of the whole zoo. The first thing we saw was the Monkey House. Surprisingly, there is an aerial 'bridge' that allows one species to cross out of the enclosure and enjoy freedom. They do so, but obviously come back each night. The dolphin show is very similar to the outstanding one at the Baltimore Aquarium. We wandered the zoo for over four hours and found it very special around closing time when most of the visitors had left. The collection includes a rare Asian Rhino, but apparently there are no elephants. Well, I guess you cannot have everything. Admission prices are pretty steep, but when you think about the charges to see a dolphin show elsewhere, it does not seem too bad.
