“visit in november”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

The zoo is quite big and there are quite alot of animals to see... Some animals that were on the brochure/leaflet given, were not there... probably because of the weather... so i would visit in summer should i plan to go again....
I would have liked to go on a guided tour in english (as stated on the leaflet) .... but the people in the ticketboot could not understand us!!!

Worth the 13.50 euros just the same....

“Great Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Visited November 2012 - was very quiet to walk round as we went on a week day.
Animals were all very active and the enclosures are large and spacious. Spent the afternoon walking round to all the enclosures and back to the manatees and polar bears again as they were the highlight of the visit having not seen these before.
Most of the food outlets were closed when we were there which did not affect our visit but would be worth taking refreshments as it can take hours to see the zoo to its fullest.

“Bigger than the one I grew up with!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

The zoo is huge in my perspective but I grew up by a small humble zoo. The dolphin and aquarium exhibits are their pride and joy and they make it obvious by the seemingly lack of care to the rest of the zoo. Its nice altogether but they showcase that part the most. The kinder funpark is awesome but beware it is always crowded with kids. Also if you are American understand that Germans aren't necessarily shy so there were naked babies and toddlers running around the water fountain. There are dozens of ice cream vendors throughout the zoo but only a handful of "food" vendors that are usually backed up with long lines. So suggest you bring a lunch and picnic it out. And if you are not a smoker be aware there is smoking allowed all throughout the zoo except the buildings.

“Animalfriendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I liked the big areas for the animals and off course the dolphins.
The show is great for kids and in this Zoo you can have a real walk.

“One of the best zoo I've seen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

Even if we visited the zoo in October and the temperature was around 10 degrees Celsius, we had a great time visiting this zoo. You can see a lot of animals from pigs, cows to tigers and polar bears. A dolphin show is also very nice to watch.

The domain of the zoo is very large, you can spend a whole day there. You can also serve your lunch in a very nice restaurant in the middle of the zoo with very good prices.

Tea, hot wine, coffee, hot brezeln ... they are all there !!!

All of this for only 13 Euros / Adult ... I highly recommend this zoo !!! I think we will visit it again in the summer !!!
