“Using Indian spices does not make Indian food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

Was here a couple of times last year (I am Indian and travel extensively for work), with work colleagues - as they assumed it would be authentic Indian fare and I would enjoy it. Unfortunately, it is not real Indian food, just a mix of Indian spices, excessive salt and high prices due to a premium location. If you want more authentic Indian food in munich, I suggest one of the other two restaurants in the (I can't remember the names but one is on Elvira str and the other at corner of the Nymphenburger and the Mittlerring.

“Excellent Indian restraunt at nympenburger str Munich”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

We were here with friends who were vegetarians, we had to search for this place for a while but it was well worth the effort. The staff was very attentive to us.
Enjoyed the authentic Indian food. Would recommend the dal fry it comes with a complementary rice pullav.
These people know how to take care of their customers. Everybody got complementary mango shots post dinner.
Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine

“Great little Indian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

We found this place thanks to....TripAdvisor. Small restaurant, does not look much but it's the best indian we have had in a while. The server was quite funny, we made our order, then he said no,no, no you have to order this and that instead, it's much better. And his choices were very good. We had some veggies dishes (dhal, aubergine,..) and some chicken dishes (but I don't know what he ordered). The nans and parathas were great. We went on a monday evening and the crowd was mostly expat/english speaking. Good Value.

“Not authentic”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Difficult to understand why this restaurant is rated so highly.

The chaat starters are very small portions and not a great selection. The salad that came with them was basic, no effort and wilted.

The mains are very, very expensive. Three different dishes came with the same base gravy which is odd as they are very different dishes.

The chilli naan which should have come with fresh green chillies came pasted with red chilli powder. The 'fresh' green chillis appeared to have come defrosted out of the freezer so limp.

The spice levels are heightened by red chilli powder instead of naturally with fresh green chillis. That's not good for your digestion.

The naans and rotis are so small, the size of a starter plate. We felt rushed through the service. The inside is small with no air conditioning and small flies about.

I've never had such an unauthentic experience. There are much, much better places in Munich.
