Following two days of mediocre - and at times, overpriced - cuisine in and around Munich, we decided to pay a visit to 'Natraj' having seen its very positive reviews on Tripadvisor. Being from London, we'd missed eating a proper Indian meal since we'd gone to the continent, and the omnipresent sight of Currywurst and Chips had started to become somewhat gut-wrenching!
After a 20-minute walk from Hauptbahnhof, the intoxicating aromas of eastern spices awaited us as we aporoached this little gem of a restaurant. Needless to say, the subsequent meal was anything but a disappointment! With a large and varied menu (more than sufficient for both carnivores and vegetarians alike), the main dishes were priced roughly between ?9-13, which, given the quality of the food, was more than worth the money. The refreshing flavour and the warm heat of my Mint and Yoghurt-marinated Tandoori Chicken awakened the whole palette, whilst the waiters were both informative and very helpful when choosing what to order.
If I were to visit Munich once more, 'Natraj' would certainly be on the itinerary! If you appreciate real Indian cuisine - and not just a bog standard Chicken Tikka Masala from a high street supermarket - then 'Natraj' is the place for you!
