I suspect if you have not been to Dallmayr then you haven't seen the 'real' Munich, or at least the way of life for some lucky Munich people. The ground floor is an Aladdin 's Cave of a food hall where you can buy all sorts of specialities. On the first floor there is a gift section, and a charmingly decorated cafe/bistro where you can have a meal or simply drink tea or coffee and enjoy the ambience.
Back on the ground floor, where we ate, there is a bistro area where you perch on high stools for a glass of wine, seafood soup, or a plate of Dallmayr's own light and tasty food.
Service is excellent; waiters and waitresses are smart in green tunics with long white aprons.
