“jewish cuisine in a loud place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2010

The place is very nice inside. Although very loud. Since it is not allowed to smoke, it got better, otherwise it was impossible to breathe.
I personally liked the food a lot, although most of my friends (Spain, Italy, Ukraine and Russia) were not very amazed.

You can also watch football - as already said, architecturally the palce is very nice. The service was rather not very consistent.

“Don't bother with this”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2010

Well, unless perhaps you're a regular. Or unless you're quite sure of being terminally hip. Or unless perhaps you're pefectly happy with the idea of being largely ignored. . .

But here's the point: Even if you stick with it through to the bitter end, you'll wonder why on earth you bothered to do so. The highly limited menu is some totally uninspired combination of "Israeli" and Middle Eastern cooking---which tends in practice to mean things like meatballs, and fish soup, and so forth; you've seen it before, and it's not nearly as exotic as it sounds. It's bland and banal.

It's a mystery why any German would go there ("guilt"?). Why anyone else who has spent any time in New York---or London, or Toronto, or Vienna, or Berlin--- would go there is a bigger mystery still.

They're basically just selling attitude (Their poster of a dog with a Nazi-inspired yellow star around his neck is a dead giveaway)---If you've bought it, you'kll leave feeling that you've been conned.

“Exquisite food, very friendly, helpful service, lovely Israeli wines!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

We had a lovely experience here after a long day on Munich's streets, biergartens and in the Glyptotek. We sat outside on cushioned benches, in a quiet but interesting street, and got great service. Waiter and waitress were attentive and helpful, and the food was great. We had an Israeli mezedhes - lovely variety of dishes - Arabic, Israeli, western; followed by a fabulous tuna crusted with sesame. Cooked to perfection and so big that they split it between us. Our first taste of Israeli wines - a chardonnay, sweeter than we are used to, and a syrah - beautifully deep rich and fruity, with a fantastic long finish. Bit expensive, but worth it to get such good wines by the glass. Great experience, and we managed the last but one train back to Bernried!

“good food but very slow service and no special requests honored!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2010

I met 5 friends for breakafast. The food was good but it took around 40 minutes to make.
It's fine if you don't mind waiting but do not expect to order any extras or make any substitutions whatsoever. despite this, the atmosohere was nice and peaceful. Having one cook and one waitress on a Sunday morning is not practical. Management should try having two cooks and helping the waitress if they do not want to hire another one.

“Great place if you are fed up with pork (which can easily happen in Bavaria)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2009

Food tastes very good, although a bit pricey. The interior is fantastic, great decoration!

Try the Israeli Honeymoon virgin cocktail and kosher curry wurst - very nice!
