2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

This hotel is in the middle of a really scummy area with loads of strip bars surrounding it and dodgy looking people hanging out along the streets all night and day. As a women I felt very uncomfortable being in this environment and this place is a definite no no for families or anyone who wants any sleep. When we arrived we were greeted by a very sour faced man who didn't really welcome us, We asked if our bags could be left for an hour before check in and were given keys and told to take the luggage downstairs ourselves with no assistance. When we opened the closet there were loads of bags and anyone could easily just go through all your stuff. The rooms are like something from 40 years ago. Tiny TV with only CNN in English (not really a problem for me but some may be interested), the bed was really uncomfortable and as there was no AC, the windows were left open and lots of mosquitoes came in the room at night and bit me all over my legs. I am a really heavy sleeper so wasn't bothered by the noise outside, but my partner had a few terrible nights of sleep because of the loud noises coming from the street right outside our room. The bathroom was the best part of the whole experience, even though the toilet seat was wobbly, the shower had good water pressure. I would say this is an incredibly basic hotel, all of this lack of service/basic amenities I can cope with if I felt this was reflected in the price. Bottom line- too expensive for a terrible hotel.

Location to the old town was perfect. Other people commented on the night clubs but this was no problem. We still felt very safe walking at night. The restaurant we picked one night was fantastic & very very reasonable just a street away. Other nights we just walked down to the old town for meals. We arrived on a Sunday and the gentleman on the front desk, who spoke perfect English, came out and stopped the traffic so we could reverse a little way back down the street to get into thier parking area. This was very much appreciated. The room was spacious & provided everthing we needed. The breakfast was plentiful & fresh, We would stay again.

I used points to stay. It was a very modern room. Carpets were modern and clean. The room was small but adequate for 2 people. The staff was spectacular and knew English. The location was near the Center of town and the Central station. The breakfasts were phenomenal. Had a shower but no tub. I would stay again.

Room Tip: In the back of the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in March on Spring Break with my nephew. The location is good. Just 3 blocks from the main train station and all transportation. The walk is safe, but there are lots of strip clubs and seedy places. But we never felt unsafe.
The rooms are small and dated, but clean. The beds are small, but comfortable. The bathrooms are very small, but functional. The room has old type radiator heat. The only spacein the room warm enough, was right next to the radiator. Luckily, it warmed up on our second day and we were comfortable.
I found the front desk staff very welcoming and polite. They went out there way to make conversation and ask our plans for site seeing. The breakfast was very nice, great way to start the day. The old style room keys are both good and bad, no way to lose your keys, but I felt like people were noting what time you came in at night.
They had a luggage storage room, which we used. It was in the basement. When we brought our bags down to the front desk, we were givien the key for the storage room and told to take our bags down. When we return to pick up our bags, we were offered the key, but the room was left unlocked. I would be scared that other guests using the storage would go thru my bags or even just take one. So, I would use the lockers at the train in the future.
The internet was 3 Euros for 24 hours. It worked well for me.

Location , breakfast and staff were cool, that mean almost everything were cool except our room. It was dirty, I could smell and see dust everywhere. If the hotel management think more about cleaning or spend more on it and leave the prices on the same level it will be really good place to stay in Munich .

We'd stayed at the hotel almost for a week. Everything was fine.
The location is tricky, on the one hand, it is the center of the city and pretty close to all the tourist attractions. On the other hand, the street is dirty, a lot of weird people hanging out there in the day, many prostitutes and rats are at night.
The hotel is clean but not really new. I liked the service and how the guys cleaned the room. Everything was put down carefully in the raw on the bed.
The breakfast is good and tasty. However, there is a toaster where the bread can be stucked easily. So one of the stuff from the kitchen shouts out "Kaput" while he is running hither and thither in the breakfast room. You can get the smell of the bread everywhere))))

Stayed at this hotel for two nights in October and found it to be a convenient location. Our group came in from/out of the train station and it was about a ten minute walk or so. While there are some adult entertainment stores in the area, we did not feel unsafe walking home at night and the desk was always staffed. There were some small stores and a great coffee shop right around the hotel, which was convenient. The staff were all nice and spoke multiple languages. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious. The breakfast was a highlight each morning - there were great breads, meats/cheeses, yogurt, juice, coffee and cappuccino, cereals, eggs and fruit. Would definitely stay here again if in Munich.
