Booked in May 2012, with high demand & high prices for hotels in Munich during the Electronica exhibition in November. Wanted low-cost hotel near to public transport - most already booked or expensive. GHotel fitted criteria - booked 2 nights at £87pn. Journey time airport to the hotel, with 1 subway change, approx 1h. Pleasantly surprised to find the nearest subway station entrance just a few hundred metres away and on the U2 line with trains going directly to the international exhibition centre. The hotel's location is in a quiet street, conveniently close to the city centre.
My bedroom had two single beds and was very quiet. It seemed to be a different shape to the other bedrooms, being long and narrow and had facilities for disabled use in the bathroom. Also provided was a kitchenette with hot plates and fridge. A flat screen TV had access to major European channels, including the BBC World Service. A good selection of hot and cold food was on offer in the breakfast room, for an extra charge of €12 each day. Close by is the river and just across the road, the Church of St Maximilian, with its wonderful sounding bells - well worth a visit. Staff were very helpful - overall, a very pleasant stay.
Disadvantage: Extra charges for wired or wifi internet access. Like many other travellers, I look for free wifi access, so had to succumb to Starbucks in order to spend some time on-line (O2 roaming access is good but limited to 25MB per day for £1.99).
