The Hotel Munich Inn is a mixed bag. The location is a plus: it is conveniently located near the Hofbahnhof and maybe a 15-minute walk to the Marien Platz. Granted, you do have to walk by a few strip joints and casinos but there are lots of normal, sober people around so it seemed safe to us. It is an ethnic neighborhood (which apparently makes some reviewers uncomfortable), providing the added bonus of all night kebab shops and grocery stores opened on the weekend and holidays.

The rooms are snug but modern and comfortable enough. However, I do not think our room was cleaned while we were there and the clean towels were simply thrown atop a suitcase by the door.. And, I would not recommend walking around with bare feet, as debris from the neglected floor tends to accumulate. Based on these observations and the dead bugs in the window sill, I would venture to guess housekeeping is lax.. Like other reviewers, we had a hole in the sheets too.. Both of our rooms were very warm and stuffy; opening the window proved quite noisy. Despite our nonsmoking room, we could always smell cigarette smoke coming from somewhere in the building.

The physical layout of the hotel is cumbersome and the stairwells were untidy as it seems they also function as a storage area for the room linens, boxes and food for the cafe next door.

The breakfast was pretty good and opened early at 6:30am, which was nice. However, the staff was a bit short. Similarly, the front desk staff were not well-briefed on issues such as how much a local phone call placed from the room would cost..

Like other reviewers, we were disappointed with our stay overall.. It was in a decent location but perhaps something nicer could be found nearby for the same price.

I booked this hotel for 5 nights in Munich. The train from the airport is very cheap. The hotel isn't far away from the main train station but, it is in the red light district. Adult shops and in the turkish suburb. The hotel has a narrow entrance and we had to pay upfront. The lift fits one person 2 if your thin. The people at the front counter are little help. The trendy but tiny. Our room floor was never once cleaned. Folded the sheets and made an effort to clean the bathroom. Cheap locks on windows. No safe, place to put your bag. The cleaner would just push the dust rubbish under the bed. If i was to stay in munich i would stay in the area where the beer halls are as it is a safe and trendy area. We never felt safe walking back to the hotel of a night, especially if you are a girl on your own as the men around there are disgusting. Recommend going out to the Neicwstein(however u spell it) castle and day trips. There is a company in the train station who run tours and are very helpful and speak good english!

The hotel is basic but very clean and great location. If you do stay there ask to be on a high floor, as there is noise from the street, and ask to be in the newer building, not the one the reception is in, as the newer building is...newer! The heating was not working in our room but it didn't make much difference. You can book this hotel without any hesitation.

A pretty basic hotel in a good location 200m from main train station,
some 500m from town center pedestrian zone.

Pros:
1) Location, anything else to say?
2) Staff at the reception are very nice and speak plain English.
3) Room is tiny but it has all one would expect.
3) Breakfast is included and it has a nice choice of cheeses and seed breads.

Cons:
1) A quite gloomy neighbourhood at night, sexy shows, slot machines, and some late kebap stands.
2) Only German channels and CNN on TV, hey, how about adding RAI?
3) How come shower basin drains so slowly?
4) The breakfast room seems a prison cell for its dimensions, staff serving breakfast seem Aeroflot attendants for their manners, and then you have to wait out of the room for your turn to be outraged by the Frau-in-chief.
5) No common areas whatsoever, no luggage room (you'll be directed to the lockers in the train station)
