Went for a 3 day weekend for a change of scene and some good beer and sauerkraut. Took the S1 or S8 Train from the airport (40 mins) to Hauptbahnhof and a 5 minute walk. We were early but a room was available. Clean, big enough, usual Marriott comfortable bed, windows open (good), bathroom had usual amenities. Room faced inward to a Courtyard - make sure you ask for this as the main road outside the hotel is busy. There is no mini bar - you buy your water etc in reception at mini bar prices - go to the shops and buy your water. Breakfasts are buffet style with good choice. Restaurant is Italian with a good choice and a good quality. Fine bar with good choice of beers and wines, theres a nice seating area outside if you want to take the air (24 degrees and sunny on February) or have a cigarette. Staff are very friendly. No issues with the hotel. The old centre of Munich is a 10 minute stroll, out the hotel turn right, 500 metres, turn left 200 metres, look right, cross the road and youre in the thick of it. There are hotels in the centre - they are smaller but the Marriott is more than good enough. No issues with the hotel and Munich is great, cheaper than London across the board. As an aside, we flew Air Berlin from Stansted - both flights were a joy - recommended.

First let me say I am a Marriott Rewards member so I prefer Marriott properties. I stayed here Feb 16 to the 20th using reward points so I didn't spend money on the room. The location is great. I didn't use public transportation at all, everything I wanted to see was within walking distance (main train station is two blocks away from hotel). The staff was extremely helpful. The room was a typical of European hotels and the view wasn't anything special. The restaurant downstairs was a great break from beer and brat! I would stay here again, and even pay for it, if I was in Munich again.

Nice location, walking distance from the town center, though the neighborhood is a little seedy. I didn't feel unsafe walking around at night. The staff was helpful, they had simple sandwiches that could be bought at the front desk. I didn't try the restaurant downstairs. The room was comfortable, nothing special though. My big concern was that I noticed that the used glasses in the room were not replaced. I noticed residue on the "clean" glass from the dietary supplement I had dissolved in water the night before. Its seems as if the glass was wiped down, not replaced or washed. I bought plastic cups to use in the room after that.

When travelling in Europe the big positives are always using the public transportation systems(most of the time train), this hotel is less than 2 blocks from the main Munich train station. It is also only
5 blocks walk from the center of old Munich. If you like a clean, updated setting you cannot beat this hotel. Staff was very friendly and always willing to assist with directions or problems. The computers are an bonus. As for eating in the hotel we passed, if we wanted a quick bite to eat the train station was always open around the corner (with a variety of dozens of eating vendors). I would recommend this hotel and when we go back as a family in the summer will stay in this hotel - for the geographical location. Served as a great base station for the 7 out of town trips we made via the train. By the way, it is really easy to get to from the airport.
