“Excellent room and a good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

We were arriving late evening and Marion had already warned us that the key safe was broken. I rang Marion on the train from the airport and she was there to meet us, no problems.. We stayed for 5 nights in room 10 on the fourth floor and it certainly represented good value for money. The room was spacious, with a six foot bed, three comfortable chairs, a table, wardrobe and a set of drawers but it didn't feel crowded. As we were staying in the beginning of December and the outside temperature was below freezing we were concerned that the room may be cold, There was no need to worry on that score, we had to turn the radiator down as it got to hot for comfort. The bathroom was very clean and modern it had an shower with a loads of hot water, no bath but thats what we asked for. There was a large washbasin and of course a toilet. The room was cleaned and the beds made every day, towels were changed every other day which was fine by us. Beakfast was great, an exceptionly wide choice and as much coffee as you can drink.. Marion was very friendly and helpful as was her standin when she took a couple of days off. I've stayed at 4* hotels at twice the price that weren't as good. I have stayed in the Pension downstairs, it is good and I would stay there again but PensionLindner is much better. If you remember this is a bed and breakfast only two minutes from the heart of Munich then you start appreciate what good value it is.

Room Tip: The rooms with private shower and toilet are worth the little bit extra you have to pay.

The location was ideal, being just a few minutes from the Marienplatz & the U-Bahn station. The breakfast spead was wonderful, as well as quite filling every morning. I booked a single room with a shared bathroom and in the 4 nights of my stay only once did I find the bathroom occupied. WiFi was excellent. I would definitely stay here on any return visit to München.

My husband & I stayed at Pension Lindner in mid-September. Even though our plane got in early on a Sunday morning, Marion let us drop our bags in our room (staff was cleaning it at the time). We appreciated this flexibility.

The main reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is that even though we reserved 5 months in advance, the room we were assigned was not nearly as nice as what's pictured on the website or even on Tripadvisor by other folks. It was clean & adequate, though. We had a shower & sink in the room, although we shared a common bathroom for the toilet. The common bathroom had a shower used by folks who had no shower in their room - quite busy at times.

But the location is the star of this pension. Right off Sendlinger, it was so convenient to Marienplatz & S-bahn (didn't use the U-bahn, but it was right there, too). Also, just a short walk down to Sendlinger-tor, we used the street car quite a bit, even to haul the luggage to the train station. Absolutely love the mass transit system of Munich!

The other wonderful thing about this pension is that Marion did not jack up the prices (which are quite reasonable) during the trade fair that was going on while we were there. The other pension in the same building gave us a quote that was nearly 3 times (!) the regular rate - this was not Oktoberfest, but a simple trade fair. I thought it was great that Marion kept her prices at the normal rate.

Also, our room was right above the Afghan restaurant, which has outdoor seating. Even though the weather was nice & we like to have the window open, this was no problem. However, there seems to be a 24-hour construction policy in Munich - we were awoken at 2am by workers throwing bricks down a chute. We heard others complaining at breakfast of also being woken by construction. I doubt if it's a constant problem, though.

The wifi was the best we had at any place we stayed at in Germany or Austria.

The location is excellent with all attractions within walking distance or a short train ride away. wifi didnt miss a beat and breakfast was superb. Above all Marion was a perfect host who runs a really wonderful B&B. We loved our stay here and would happily recommend.

Marion is a fabulous caretaker of her perfectly located pension - 5 min walk from Marienplatz in central Munich on a small side street. Wifi is included in your stay and breakfast is outstanding! We stayed on the 3rd floor with a shared toilet in the hall, though our room had a shower and sink located en suite. The windows are double walled and easily exclude the busy street noise. I stayed 2 nights during the busy Oktoberfest and found that Marion was helpful with directions and recommendations. You do need to let her know in advance of your arrival time as she runs the pension by herself and it is challenging for her to meet and greet everyone at all hours of the day and night. The room was adequate; not too small, but not too big and had comfortable pillows and bedding. This is the perfect location and an excellent price point for travelers who are looking to spend most of their time outside of their hotel room enjoying all that central Munich has to offer. As I was there for 3 days, I would recommend getting the 3 day train pass for purchase from the airport train station which provides transport to and from the city on the S-bahn as well as transport for 3 days on the U-bahn within the city. The room was very clean and excellent value. I would not recommend having a car in the section of the city - too crowded and too much construction to find a car park.

Central location with very clean rooms - - easy stroll two blocks south of Marienplatz. Reserved two separate rooms for four travelling adults. Marion was very responsive. Great value for central Munich especially if only a base for sleeping.

Room Tip: Three types of rooms with shower and/or WC and/or shared.

Location: 15 mins walking to railway station, right in the centre of the shopping area :)

Room: value for money, it's small, but comfortable and clean. quiet even in the main shopping area. Sharing bathroom was not a problem at all, I think I stayed on the 3rd or 4th floor, it has several rooms in a hall sharing one bathroom, hence it's quite noisy with all the guests coming in and out the room for bathroom...

Service: Basically there is no service provided....upon arriving, I've found my room no. and key in the envelope outside of the reception office. When I tried to emailing about check-out and payment, still no reply. I understand it's weekend during my 2 nights stay, however, any hotel/hostel requires a little bit flexible working hours instead of "cold service"

So, if you are looking for just one or two days stay with low budget, it's not a bad choice.

Room Tip: dont choose shared bathroom rooms in a hall.
