“Good find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

This hotel feels fresh and well designed. They make very good use of the smallish spaces and the rooms and baths are very well designed. Breakfast is above average.
The location is convenient to the subway, BMW Motorcycle and Knorr Bremse and not much else.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't face Frankfurter Ring.

A modern hotel, with very nice contemporary rooms. A lovely wet room and typical German quality engineering. Everything works as it should do. The room was a little warm for my liking even with snow outside and temperature around 0 degrees.
The small staff were friendly and helpful, we made use of the conference room although the phone did not have loud speaker.
My only complaint is the usual. Exhorbitant wfi fi charges. 19.95 euros for 10 hours access is robbery in my opinion. Wi Fi shouldn't be included in the room rate as it is as basic as towels or a TV. The hotel is also very handy for the U Bahn and is adjacent to the Frankfurter Ring Station.

This hotel is perfect for people on business trips, it's not recommended for families with kids. The hotel is immaculately clean, the buffet breakfast is great, sizes of room vary depending on the price category, even the small rooms are clean and functional. The layout of the bathroom is interesting, shower room is small and there is no shower curtain so the whole bathroom area gets wet after taking a shower, but it dries up pretty fast due to good ventillation.

Parking is available, but the parking "cubicle" can just accommodate small cars. For those traveling with cars, It's rather hard to find parking spaces around the hotel, so you might need to look a little bit further in those side streets of the residential area.

The October Fest really raises the prices of hotels in Munich, so the rates are doubled now. We like to stay in this hotel because of the proximity to BMW company where we do business.

In conclusion: This is a good hotel for business traveler who prefers a clean and quiet place to stay. The staffs are very polite, friendly and helpful. The breakfast has good choices. Unfortunately, there is no free internet which is a huge negative point especially for business people who need internet for their work.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back are quieter than those facing the street. If you need public transportation ti...

I would rate this hotel as a perfect 3 star European hotel. It's very clean, well planned, and well located--meters from the Ubahn station and only about 13 minutes from downtown Munich. I had a 'business' class room and found it suited my needs perfectly. Only complaint is the lack of free Internet, but there is a computer that can be used for free in the lobby to check you email. Staff was also great. In particular, Werner, the night receptionist, was a pleasure, a real asset to the hotel. She was so happy to help me with whatever I needed and I enjoyed chatting with her! If you want to avoid the downtown prices or get a better hotel for your money, this place is great. Oh--the bed was really comfy too.

Very nice, clean and affordable hotel. It is a 10 minute walk to the BMW building (FIZ). Parking is in the back in closed mini-garages (very tight spaces). If you're visiting BMW on business, and not interested in being downtown, this is a very good place to stay. A Taxi to Hoftbrauhaus is about 18Euros.

Good location - close to the ubahn and BMW. Nice, small, recently remodeled room with a modern feel. Clean and well maintained with a pleasant staff and good breakfast Negatives are the street noise, lack of black out window coverings, the single bed and parking choices. The shower plan is not well thought out, but was not a nuisance to me. Water on the wood floor daily will be a maintenance headache. The price was high due to trade shows in the area, but that was known prior to arrival. Could be better, but not bad at all.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2012

I stayed at the Koenigstein for a number of meetings at BMW and for that reason it is a good hotel.

The rooms are clean, modern and look nice, the breakfast is good, service is friendly.

The following negative points prevented me from giving 4 stars:
1. The beds are horrible. The mattress' firmness is OK, but you're sleeping almost directly on the foam inside without any absorbing or breathing layer. Coupled with the hot duvet this meant I was sweating like a pig thru the night, even with the window fully opened and with freezing temperatures outside.
2. The bathroom partially had a parquet floor. The shower stall unfortunately had no door, so the wood was warped because of the water spilling out of the shower, hurting your feet. Furthermore I found this parquet underneath the washbasin rather unhygienic...
3. The Internet connection was a Telekom Hotspot, i.e. not included in the room price, and limited to 2 Mb/s if you were lucky.
4. The A/C didn't work. I don't know if this was due to the central override, but this is unacceptable if you pay for a room WITH A/C....

All in all I wouldn't recommend you to go elsewhere, but I wouldn't recommend it either.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor as the elevators are slow.
