This was our second stay at the INNSIDE Premium Hotel Parkstadt Schwabing, München and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room and the general areas of the hotel were very clean. The service at reception was efficient & friendly, as was the service in the restaurant during breakfast (great buffet selection). There is ample free parking around the hotel, and a train station (15 minute walk from the hotel) that takes you into central München. Definitely worth a stay if you're planning to visit München!
Well you'll be most interested to know right off the bat that the minibar in the room is complimentary. Now THAT was a first for us and truly made a difference to our stay.
We stayed at this modern and artistic hotel for 8 nights. The views are not great, but the rooms are very comfortable, if odd. The minimalist approach does take some getting used to. Our room was the one immediately outside the door to the wellness area, something we took advantage of daily.
The breakfast is a delicious buffet, a little on the small side, and a lot on the expensive side. Of course, the free minibar and wellness sort of balance that cost out. There are amenities available by request, but they won't be in your room to start with. The rooms themselves are very modern, clean, comfortable. Each one has free DSL and for-fee wireless internet access, cable, multiple outlets. The hotel does not have converters so be sure to bring your own.
The staff are quite friendly, almost all speak English and several other languages.
The U-bahn is a bit of a trek in the snow, but not too terrible. Really there is not very much in walking distance of the hotel. We basically hit the U-bahn for everything.
Cab fare from the airport was about 50 Euros including tip, pretty much standard to any decent Munich hotel from the Munich airport.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay, though it did take some getting used to (especially the glass bathroom). Just don't expect those sweeping views of Munich architecture from this one. I enjoyed my stay here more than at the Arabella Sheraton Bogenhausen a few years ago, and would recommend it to other travelers.
The hotel is really new, with the architecture of Helmut Jahn (one of the most famous in the world). The lobby is very simple but functional with two wonderful glass lifts and a very nice lighting system. The rooms are perfect, expecially in the glass bathrooms, very original and practical, not as the usual "design hotels" minimal bathrooms. Also the wellness is very original, because it is very dark in the relaxing area, overlooking from its fifth floor huge window the cars in the motorway. Finally, the breakfast is one of the best (for example like the 25 Hours Hamburg hotel) and the minibar is free. What else!
