“great customer service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

This place was right near the main train station and near down town. We loved that it was so close to the train station. The beds were comfortable and they had no problem when I asked them for another pillow. The downside to this place is that because it is down town it is very loud. Their windows are very old and you can hear everything. They do offer free ear plugs. This place has a shared bathroom and shower for the entire floor. That I didn't like as we were already paying for a hotel not a hostel. If you were on the first floor you needed to use the upstairs shower. I wouldn't come here again unless I really did need to be near the train station. The customer service was really nice and helpful, but not worth the money. I've heard though that Munich is expensive anyway.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the first floor as there is not a shower there.

Basically it is dirty. Pillow had blood underneath the cover took it to reception where they didn't apologise but said they would send another one up, which they did and this 'new' one had a large yellow stain on it. Toilet and shower blocks were always dirty, very true you get what you pay for but hey should pay you to stay here. Terrible. Even the receptionist laughed when she signed us in, she was the only good thing about the place!!!

Room Tip: To choose a good room find another hotel.

I reserved this hotel room for 5 days. The location couldn't be any better. Coming on the train from Frankfurt the hotel is just across from the train station..the tour buses are at the corner..the marienplatz and Hofbrauhaus are within walking distance...the hotel has a biergarten, restaurant right in front..the desk clerks are super great ..hope the owners know that..they are nice, friendly and.helpful to any of your needs..the hotel is hotel and hostel .. Our room was very small with no place to open our suitcases or put anything..Our bed was large and comfortable Our windows opened out onto the street which was nice..to look out on the pedestrian street ..the bathroom was modern with a great shower and plenty of hot water and pressure...being the hotel is an old building ..we were on the second floor and we used the antique elevator..in the morning there were bags of towels in in..and when we were to check out.it wasn't working ,, the desk clerk came up and carried our heavy bags down the stairs ..when we left just across the street to the train station where you can get the train to the airport..how easy..I would defeniety stay there again..thanks

I have stayed here on two occassions recently.
It is perfectly located about 40 meters outside the front entrance of the Central train station
(München Hbf).

It offers breakfast for 6.50 euro. Private twin accomodation is 65 euro, however these rates change depending which season/month you Arrive.
Single bed in a dorm will cost you around 13 euro.

The rooms are reasonable size. They offer to store your luggage, whilst you visit other places ( for short period). I visited Salzburg for one night and than returned.

Staff was helpful with ideas/places to visit in Munich and the surrounding small towns(places of
Interest).

There is a lift servising the building although not a modern one (it is an older buildings )
The hallway is carpeted.

You might not be used to stay in a hotel-room without water, toilet, shower... But you will get used to it! I was on a short trip to Germany via Munich-Airport and this time I definitely was not willing to spend much money. So I encouraged myself to try. And I was positively surprised. The room was not spacious but had enough space to move. The bed was super and the Hotel was clean all over. Reception-staff was absolutely helpful. I could buy WLAN für 2 Euros for 24hours, And the full breakfast was 6.50 Euros. Hey, to stay in Munich, 10 Minutes walk to the Hofbräuhaus etc, 2 Minutes from the Main Station, and pay 44 Euros is super! The toilets and bathrooms are absolutely clean and I was never standing in front of closed doors...
You have to book online ( I used hotel.de). The prices differ according to events in Munich... But still than it is a super and cheap stay. Simply bring slippers and a bathrobe...
