“Welcoming and Warm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Clean, warm and comfortable lodgings. I stayed in a single room that was comfortable for one person and two big bags. The staff was charming and helpful, especially in letting me know which of the Christmas markets were the best to start with and end up with. Breakfast provided a wide range of options and the coffee was strong. A great value for the price-point.

This a great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi were included. It is centrally located, right across from the Viktualienmarkt and just steps from the Marienplatz. My room was clean, nothing extravagant, and it overlooked the courtyard next door. I can't say I have any complaints about this hotel. It's a great value and a great location. I highly recommend it.

Right across from the Viktualienmarkt with good shops and restaurants nearby. We had a double room that was very large with a small sitting area in the corner. The room was in the back of the building so it was very quiet at night despite being there on a weekend with lots of street traffic. Breakfast was outstanding and the restaurant area was very pleasant and comfortable.

For the price, you cant beat the location, we could walk to all the sights and never needed to take a taxi. The Marienplatz train station is also very close so it was easy to get to and from the airport.

Nice hotel, centrally located in Munich near Viktualienmarkt and Marienplatz. A bit small, but clean and pleasant rooms. 24 hour open reception with friendly personell. The free wi-fi was slow, and we were disturbed by some loud noises from the backyard in the morning, but apart from that we had a great stay.

I was not comfortable in my room however, I think that I would have been happier in a double room. They gave me what I requested except the room was very noisy. I know from now on to always ask for a double bed.

Pros and Cons of this hotel:

Pros:
Room is very pretty with flowers painted on closet doors. They matched the curtains. Lovely small sofa.

Internet worked pretty good. Stopped on me a few times in the middle of my work.

There is a very nice closet with shelves and hanging space. A safe is on one of the shelves.

I think that the double rooms are probably better than my single room.

Lots of restaurants in the same block.

Delicious buffet breakfast with friendly servers

Front desk staff were very nice and accommodating.

You leave your large brass room key at the desk so you have to be sure you don't close your door before taking the key.

Cons:

Bed very low and I wish I would have known how narrow the bed would be.

Pillows and duvet too fluffy.

Only outlet in the bed area was way under the unmovable desk. I am almost 75 years old. It was difficult and painful to get down on the carpet and crawl to plug my computer in.

Front desk said I had a quiet room. It was very noisy.

It was warm in the room. If I opened up the window, I was kept up by the noise.

Towels are not soft. Glassed in shower is small. The sink faucet has an angle that sends water onto the floor if you aren't careful.

Lighting in room is too low for working on the laptop. There is a wall sconce close to the desk but has low wattage bulbs. The ceiling light is also too low.

The curtains are cotton and do not block light. I was woken by this problem every morning.

Television is a small flat screen on the desk. Not easy to see television from an uncomfortable desk chair, bed or sofa.

Room Tip: If you are a solo traveler ask for double room. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a QUIET room.

We stayed here a couple of nights. Loved the location and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms were fine. Beds weren't the best, but nonetheless we slept well each night. They were clean, small and just right for our needs. Great location, just around the corner from the City Center area. We would stay here again...just for the nice breakfast alone!

My wife and I stayed at this property 9/9/13 to 9/12/13. It is 2 minutes walk from the Marienplatz square. Great location to all areas in the district. The Metro is in the Marienplatz. Easy to get to many attractions from here. Many restaurants in the area. No a/c in the room but we just opened the window and it was plenty cool. Breakfast was great in the mornings. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had to share a common shower and restroom in this property for the value we paid for. But that was fine with us as no one ever seemed to use them but us. We never had to wait for a shower or the bathroom as it seemed other persons got rooms with full bathrooms in them. The common showers and bathrooms were clean ALL the time. This hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the Oktoberfest grounds. Great location I tell you. Free internet in your room. We recommend this hotel to others. You won't be disappointed. We would definitely stay here again.
