This restaurant is one of our favourites and we frequent it often. The place itself is a hole-in-the-wall, and is very cramped. Often one needs to share a table with other patrons. Manam doesn't take reservations, it's strictly a walk-in restaurant. There is often a queue of people waiting to get in, which in itself is a tribute to how good the food is, and that a relatively long wait in the cold is worth it! They are open from Monday to Saturday, and closed on Sundays. They close at 9pm, so last orders are usually taken around 8:15pm. We've seen people getting turned away if they've arrived after that.
Beware though that you don't ask for them to cook your meal 'hot' or 'very hot' because unlike other Thai Restaurants, they'll really take your word for it and the 'party of the year' will be taking place in your belly shortly afterwards! Kudos to them however for keeping their fare authentically Thai. They haven't adjusted the ingredients and flavours for western palates, which is brave and laudable. The waitstaff can sometimes come across somewhat cold or brash, but don't let that deter you. The prices are very reasonable, and you'll walk away from this place after a delicious meal, and with a sense of value. Make sure to try their papaya salad, massaman curry, or pad thai.
