This hotel is very tastefully decorated and equipped with all mod-cons and it's in a great location with all the sights within easy walking distance or a short trip via Munich's excellent transport network. However, wherever your room is in the hotel, unfortunately you will be disturbed either by the heavy traffic made up of trams and cars on Bayerstrasse or by the very popular bar on the ground floor of the hotel which is open (and noisy) until the wee hours. Aswell as this, the first thing that hits you (if you're a non-smoker, that is) is the smell of tobacco smoke - the entrance to the hotel is also the entrance to the bar where smoking is allowed at any time. The ventilation in the hotel is non-existent, therefore the corridors, lifts, stairwells and even the no-smoking rooms smell of stale tobacco. The worst element of this is that you have to eat breakfast in the bar where smoking is permitted in half the room, with again, no form of ventilation to relieve the non-smokers of the stench. I'm afraid I can't recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to smell sweet for their stay in Munich as I spent 4 days with ashtray-scented hair and bloodshot eyes!
