“2 lovely nights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

I booked this hotel for a two night stay at the end of our Bavarian vacation with my husband, mother and adult son. The hotel is down the block from the Octoberfest grounds which is on the fringes of the downtown area. The train station is a walk or a taxi is about 10Euros into town. The hotel is on a small street and is up a flight of stairs. Once inside the hotel there is an elevator to access the 3 floors of the hotel. The hotel has charm and is staffed with very friendly, kind and attentive staff. They were available for help at any time. The hotel has wi-fi throughout and a computer on the reception level. There is a breakfast room that serves from about 7am until 10am. The breakfast has a nice variety of cold choices; cereals, breads, cold cuts and hard boiled eggs. The rooms are clean and neat with basics. There was only liquid soap, no shampoo, etc. so bring your own. It was basic.
It was a nice stay with a little local charm instead of a traditional hotel.

We try to search out independent hotels and this family owned and run hotel is well located, and did not disappoint. From the initial welcome we felt valued and important. With Trip Advisor research we chose a recently refurbished room that was great [I think it was room 35] though they seem to be working through the whole hotel. The breakfast is the usual continental affair but plenty for us and there were some lovely unique touches like a 'grain grinder' and above all the coffee was good.
The choice of restaurants nearby is limited but Lenz, a two minute walk, was great and they have cocktail hour which was great. Food and service was good as well and I had my first litre of Munich's finest!
There are good bus and rail links into the centre of Munich but we walked most days even though it was snowy and cold, [stayed in mid Feb] - walked off the great Munich food!!
This highlights another good feature of the hotel, even though there was grit going down everywhere [the Germans cope with snow very well], there management kept the hotel clean and tidy.
Overall they managed to balance efficient professional ethos with traditional welcoming atmosphere, all English speaking. We met up with a friend and Munich resident who uses the hotel for business clients, and this must be a refreshing change from the monochrome 'chain hotels'.
Their website is a bit clunky but I like that...

Room Tip: I think all rooms would be quiet as it is located in a quiet area, check to see which rooms have bee...

This hotel is in an old mansion and within walking distance to the train station, (10 minutes). The price was great. The breakfast was very good. The location was great in a residential neighborhood. My girlfriend cried when we had to leave this place. No kidding. Hope to return next year.

My husband, 17 yr old son and I spent 2 nights at Hotel Uhland in March. The staff made us feel welcome and were most helpful in giving directions and answering our questions. Our room ( 2 room suite for 3 persons) was clean and comfortable. Our bathroom was well equipped and comfortable. It was interesting to experience the interior of such a fine old home. My favorite part of the morning was going downstairs to have hot chocolate or coffee and read while the others slept in. Their breakfast room is bright and cheerful and woman who served us was so warm and helpful. There was much to see and so little time- we enjoyed exploring the old town center, the Nymphenberg Palace Complex and Deutsches Mueseum. The location is not far from the main train station and we managed nicely by walking and using the train and subway system.

I stayed here twice in a seven day period - once in a single comfort room and once with family in a triple. Rooms were very clean, bright, beds very comfortable. Nice high ceilings in the triple room made the room feel very large. No toiletries provided except from the gel soap dispensers in by the sink and in the shower. Bathrooms reasonable size, with toilet separted by a door. Located on a quiet side street in a residential area, but there is a little street noise, kept out by the double windows. Brisk ten minute walk from Hauptbahnhof, and two minutes to the Octoberfest grounds. The Octoberfest grounds are a great place to fun - I saw dozens of people at 7:30 pm running around and through this very large/completely paved "park". U bahn station about two blocks away.
Breakfast was hot soft-boiled eggs, cold sliced meats and cheeses, fruits, bread/rolls (toaster provided) with lots of toppings, cereals with many add-ins, juices, coffee, variety of teas.
Service was good - front desk crew was very helfpul providing directions, restaraunt suggestions (ate at Lenz, just around the corner, twice !)
WiFi coverage a little thin unless on the lobby level, as reported by others.
We would stay here again.

we spent 4 nights in this nice Hotel. I choose it by a friend suggestion that passed here 1 night. The hotel is very well located, near the park of the Oktoberfest in a great Street. The staff is friendly and Always at disposal to answer to all our questions. Nate and Ursula are the best.
Ask them reccomendation about dinner...Lenz near the Hotel is perfect!
Rooma are big, quiet and comfortable, we slept very well.
Breakfast buffet was good, for Italians people they can add espresso and cappuccino and a warm croissant but you'll find something to eat..no worries.
WI-FI connection is available in a room near the reception desk, not in the rooms, but you're on Holiday so you don't need to use internet 24 hours...relax yourself.
If we'll be back to München we'll stay here again.

Room Tip: We had rooms 22 and 23 very nice and they had a small balcony.

I lived at the Hotel Uhland for almost 3 months in 1987, and there have been lots of positive updates since then. Our small-ish double room was ready for an early check-in and was very clean and comfortable. Mini-bar prices are reasonable and the beds are supportive. The tiny bathroom had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and helpful and had our (great!) coffee waiting for us almost before we sat down to the included breakfast. Breakfast items were of good quality and offered some fairly unusual selections in addition to the meats, cheeses, cereals, and breads generally offered at similar buffets. Overall it was a very good value for being so close to the city center - I'd stay again any time.
