“Clean, basic, nice staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

Selected this hotel while driving by. On a side street very close to Marienplatz and multiple dining options. For $119€ and 12.5€ for parking! we got free wifi, breakfast, and a clean, functional room. Not too small. Very nice staff. There may be better deals in the area, but I was happy with the hotel for the price. Be aware that there is no AC and street noise can be significant.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off street if the weather is warm.

The hotel is near the centre. Only two stops on the S bahn to the main station and the station is 200metres from the hotel. Discount secure parking next door, only €12.50 per day. Staff are very friendly. Wifi pass costs €12.50 for 24 hours of Usage, which was ample for three days. Good inexpensive Asian bistros and cinema nearby.

We stayed here for 2 nights during Oktoberfest. It's about a 10 minute walk to Marienplatz and about a 20 minute walk to the main train station, Munchen Hbf.
The room was a good size for the 2 of us and it was very clean.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful. There are great places to eat nearby. The room was a little noisy but that is to be expected at this time of year. There is no free WiFi.
You could walk to Oktoberfest from Munchen Hbf, it's about a 10 minute walk.
Breakfast was yum.

The hotel location it is ok, but it is over 32 degrees outside and there is no air conditioning, not even a fan so it's been horrible to sleep. The gentleman at the front door doesn't speak any english, all I could ask him was "internet?", so he gave a paper with a username and password without saying nothing else. When I got to the room I realize that the wifi it not free and they charge you €4.50/hour. Pillows are weird and not confortable at all.

Munich has dozens (hundreds?) of these small hotels mid block. They are all fairly basic and similar in feel. This place was distinctive in a few respects:

Plusses:
Very good location just out side of the Isar Tor. Walk to Marienplatz in about 7 minutes.
Subway station "Isator" very near by - there is a short cut through the small mall leaving you unprotected from the weather all but the last 40 feet or so.
Breakfast staff was very friendly, food offerings were (typically Bavarian) cold and fairly limited.
Rooms were larger than usual in this hotel class - but anything but large.
Room and bath were keep very clean.

Minuses:
Although not on a main street there is considerable traffic noise. This started early (5:30) in the morning and could be annoying to a light sleeper.
Two nights of my 6 night stay (Saturday and Thursday) the "casino" across the street had live music until the wee hours which was quite annoying. Closing the windows helped - but this was not an option at the end of the stay as the weather grew warmer. No aircon!

Room Tip: Rooms X01 - X06 have more street noise than rooms X07 and higher.

Stayed for three nights. Had a very old, sparsely furnished room. Bathroom unbelievably small. Shower over the bath but you needed to be a contortionist to get in and out of it without slipping. No air conditioning, no tea or coffee making facilities. No safety chain or peephole in door. Safety instructions in German only. Breakfast mediocre with little choice. Staff abrupt at best. Would I recommend it? No.

I have been to this 3 star? hotel before on the basis of closeness to where I had to be, and was there again last week. Not only was it close to where I was going to be at, it was a few minute walk from a similarly named major train station , Isartor and even the Deutsches Museum. The first thing you'll notice is staff! They are helpful and friendly and efficient. I had a reservation, had booked way in advance but did not specify that I need a non smoking room. The apologised that the hotel was full, as there was a conference. They however took it upon themselves to change sheets, air room et.c to make it comfortable for me and so it was! Breakfast is available, regular continental cold fare. However, eating venues are very close by. I was in the double room for single use and my, was it roomy ! 2 chairs in room. WIFI was 10 euros for 24 hours, 4.50 for an hour. The former being obviously more reasonable. Overall a pleasant experience and good value.
