The Hotel Deutscher Theater is fine for the Munich city tourist. The hotel itself is old and a little jaded but everything is clean and tidy and works.
If you are claustrophobic you may want to give the lift a miss - to say it fits 4 people is probably a crime against the Trades Descriptions Act. We got 2 adults and 2 children in it and there was definitely no room for the flying cat.
Meet tried the breakfasts so cannot comment. We went out to get ours - if you are doing the same, be aware that the hotel is situated in one the ethnic areas of Munich with more than its fair share of sex shops, lap dancing bars and casinos.
The old man on reception (apparently a local hero) is very helpful - he seems to be there every hour of the day!
All in all fine for what we wanted it for - a base close to the city centre to just lay our heads.
Be aware that whilst the hotel is not undergoing any work at the moment, the Deutche Theatre next door is and so you need to enter the hotel via the building site.
