“Very good choice for Munich stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2012

Nice, clean and quiet property in Munich suburb Laim with very good town transport system accessability /just at the L5 metro line station - direct line to the Munich centre.
The rooms are all in all spacious with nice new furniture, clean carpets and full equipped with all 4 stars ammenities / even weight scale and sunraylamp in the bathroom! / There are only few basic international channels on TV.
Breakfast is little bit expensive , but the foodstuffs are good quality products, everybody can find something for himself and there is light alternative of breakfast for 5 Euro too.
There is a park just opposite the hotel, public sportgrounds and realy quiet area around. This hotel is realy good choice for Munich stay.

I was in Munich on business. It was an extended stay. The staff were very professional and helpful. I was very concerned about my use of the German language. The staff spoke English to me and did not "roll" their eyes like the Parisians did years ago. Would love to return some day (after investing in Rosetta Stone, of course)

Room Tip: Like most European locations, pack clothes hangers...

This is a lovely little hotel that is perfect for visiting Munich.

Positives: Good rooms, great location, great service, quiet
Negatives: Food quality isn't great, strange key system, limited TV channels

Rooms are a good size and are neat and tidy and well furnished and service was very friendly and helpful. Mine had not only a double bed, but also a single that doubled as a sofa, along with the usual desk, wardrdobe etc.

The hotel is on a main road, but there's no traffic noise or disturbance. What traffic there was had died down by 8pm.

Technically its in Laim, not Munich - but its next to an underground station which is 8mins from the centre of Munich (with no changes). Its also only a 10-15min walk from Laim railway station - which has a direct line to Munich airport (takes 40mins, with 3-4 trains an hour for €10 each way) so is absolutely brilliant for getting to and from.

My only complaint would be the quality of food in the restaurant. The range of food on offer isn't great, and its pretty ordinary tasting. I ate there the first night I stayed there, then went elsewhere on other nights. Breakfast was okay - but fairly limited and i started visiting the local bakers rather than eating at the hotel restaurant.

The room key is also slightly challenging. Its a magnetic clip which you use to open the doors, power the lights - and unlock the safe. BUT, to unlock the safe, you need to take it away from the lights - so are plunged into darkness!

I visit Munich regualrly and won't be staying anywhere else!

Room Tip: The rooms at the front corner of the hotel are slightly larger and have an extra seating area and ta...

cool and clean room... good prices at the bar, everything was fine, good position.
BUT TOO HOT TEMPERATURE IN THE ROOM!!!!
On the night of 1 january I slept with the window opened and radiators closed!

Position was very good too, just in front of the U-bahn station, just 4-5 stops from MarienPlatz, Park is easy to find.

Stayed in the corner room above the lobby. Streets were very quiet at night. Rooms were not huge but fine for two people. The particular room had great corner window to see down the street. Breakfast was buffet and excellent. Right across the street from a metro station. I will try to stay there again.

Room Tip: Get the room above the lobby. Great window seat.

Stayed there with with my partner in July. When we check in, they refused to give us more than one key to the room (they said they were fully booked and needed the keys!!), which was inconvenient as we needed two (they eventually gave us another key the following day after we kept asking them). Then, we were woken up by the sun at 6am after our first night, since the curtains were too thin to keep the light out. We wanted to check out and move to another hotel, but they said we would not be given any refund, since we booked the room through Expedia. We were offered a smaller room on a lower floor, which thankfully had blackout curtains. Now, it is beyond me how anyone in their right mind would think it's a good idea to have rooms in a hotel with thin curtains. The problems continued. The hotel internet was not working for a few days, even after I mentioned it to reception who said they could not do much. Had to buy internet from a commercial provider for 12.5 Euros a day - hotel internet was 8 Euros, when it was working, which was only on our first day there. Cleaners left small bathroom towels (hand towels), not regular bathroom towels in our room; and didn't bother to clean some glasses on the desk. The toilet paper was running out, and no-one changed it, until we asked them. Pay TV was not working. To top it all off, on one of the days we stayed there, there was loud arguments are reception going over 3-4 hours, on and off. A woman (could have been a former employee) was screaming that she wanted her money. This could have been handled better by the hotel, they could have taken the conversation elsewhere rather keep the screaming at reception for hours, annoying the guests. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something, but anyway this is enough to illustrate our stay there and the many problems. Some staff at the hotel are good and service-oriented, but this is very inconsistent. We would not stay there again.
