“Good, central hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We stayed here for four nights to visit the Christmas market and were very happy with our choice. The hotel is well-situated, approximately a 15 minutes walk to the main square and just 300 yards to a metro station.

The room was on the small side but was comfortable and adequate for our needs. Similarly, the bathroom was small but adequate. The furnishings were typically Bavarian with lots of wood panelling and a wooden bed canopy.

Housekeeping throughout the hotel was excellent.

Breakfast was a generous continental choice but with the addition of boiled eggs and sausages. Food quality was good.

There is a small bar in the reception area.

All staff were friendly and efficient.

There was a chocolate Santa left outside the bedroom door one morning, a nice touch.

Had arrived a wee bit early and was allowed to check in without any qualms. Friendly staff at the check-in counter who spoke English fluently. Brekkie was great value for money - recommended if you are off to a day trip somewhere. The location is awesome, a quick stroll to Marienplatz, just enough to be far away from the tourist crowds of the city centre.

Would recommend this place without a doubt. Look forward to coming back again!

At first glance we weren't wowed by our room; the furniture is a little dated, but it was very clean and the bed was perfectly comfortable. We didn't hear any street noise from our room, nor did we hear another hotel guest at any time. The staff was friendly and there's a parking garage right next to the hotel. Best of all, we walked everywhere, didn't need to take a cab or public transportation once during our stay...that made it a great value for the money. If you are expecting up-to-the-minute decor you might be disappointed, but if you want a clean, comfortable room in a great location this place will suit you just fine.

Stayed here for 3 nights in Dec 2012 and couldnt fault it. The room was clean and comfortable. I agree it was a little too warm on one night and you are not able to turn down the heat so just had to open the window.
Its a few mins walk from the railway station and about 10 mins to the start of the main Christmas markets. Tram stop is just round the corner for easy access to all of Munich.
Staff were very helpful at all times and the breakfast was great - lots of cereals, juices, tea and coffee, breads, pastries, eggs, bacon and sausages. It is 12 Euros but well worth it.
Would definitely recommend this Hotel!

December 2012, our 7 night stay was wonderful in this clean and convenient hotel. Visited Christmas markets, 7 minute walk (can’t beat that!) to the Hauptbahnhof Munich (main railway station). All of the staff were kind, knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms are typical small European, but very comfortable, quiet and clean and nicely appointed. Suggest 4th floor with courtyard view (non-smoking floor and quiet, especially if you like to open the window). Breakfast was excellent with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausages, all types of cereal, fruits, yogurt, cheeses, breads, danish and cold cuts. Met with Stefan the Manager who was so accommodating and helpful…will definitely come back to his excellent hotel.

Room Tip: Suggest 4th floor with courtyard view (non-smoking floor and quiet, especially if you like to open t...

After 2 delayed flights and delays at baggage reclain, I evetually reached the Hotel about 10'30 pm. julie on reception was first class - she addressed me by name before I had said why I was there and explained all the necessary things about the hotel. I was too late to go hunting for a restaurant and Julie contacted a pizza delivery co. to deal with my hunger. The most attentive staff I have come across - felt welcome and valued. Yes the room was hot and I had window open for the duration, but it was a very comfy room. The hotel was best part of trip to Munich

Stayed for two nights as we visited the Xmas markets
Nice hotel we had room on first floor which was a smoking room our fault for not asking for a non smoking room the corridor was really smelly
The bedroom was so hot and even knocking off the air con did not help much had to open the window to cool the room
Had breakfast first day ok but only had a choice of scrambled egg boiled egg or hot dog type sausages as the hot food
used the rail station the next day for a brilliant breakfast
Drank at the bar both nights nice atmosphere and drinks reasonable value
Very central location and good value for money
Staff very helpful with any request
