You can't beat the location if you want to explore Munich on foot. The hotel was clean, staff were professional, the rooms were large and well kept. The bathrooms are large and well appointed. The breakfast was incredible and was included in the price of the room.
And there is underground parking!
Our room was on the 5th floor and we never heard any noise - but it was January and the windows were closed.
The 'spa/workout' room was interesting, but not incredibly useful if you plan to work out.
My only complaint was the pillows - they collapsed into nothing but a ball of hard feathers.

Overall, this is a GREAT hotel.

Booked as a last minute business trip for a trade faire via a hotel broker website, the hotel was as a welcome end to a long day of travel and exhibition viewing. The staff are very professional and courteous on check in, check out and booking a table for dinner. The quiet double bedroom on the third floor looked over a large courtyard and the snow-covered roofs of the neighbouring buildings. It was indeed quiet, and clean, there was plenty of room and hanging space for two on a short trip, and had a modern, clean bathroom. The 5th floor sauna/steam room area was a bonus. The breakfast buffet was ample, lots of choice including some hot and local dishes (wiesswurst!) cooked to order. Only small niggles as to why I haven't given it five stars: the single duvets on the Austrian twin bed felt a little small and I would have liked a tea tray in the room. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

The Platzl is a top quality hotel in a great location; only minutes from Marienplatz and the S Bahn.
Our courtyard room was very quiet and comfortable with a really comfortable bed and lots of real pillows. Baggage unloading was easy and parking in their garage was the least expensive we've found in the city. Breakfast was included and just outstanding with great effort to avoid use of packaged products. Lobby staff was most helpful and competent. One suggestion: bring bar soap. Their environmentally-friendly squeeze bottle on the wall soap can be annoying. We will stay there again even though it's pricier than others.

location, room size and furniture, breakfasts are excellent. Hotel looks a bit old and outdated in terms of design but very clean and wel kept.
rooms facing the street are quite noisy. we stayed for 8 days but was asked to add a security deposit or pay some in the middle. quite bizarre but were told that the message was generated automatically by the computer system.
