The location couldn't be better. One block from the Hofbrauhaus, same block as Hard Rock Cafe, two blocks from the Christmas markets, three blocks from the Residenz, three blocks from the UBan/SBan. The breakfast was excellent, and I appreciated the long hours. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. The little bar is cozy, the lobby is nice for sitting in the evening with friends and a glass of wine. Rooms have wi fi. There is a computer room for those of us who don't travel with laptops. There is an excersize room and sauna. I would definitely stay there again. Rooms are spacious with plenty of room for open suitcases, and lots of closet space. Hairdryer and robes are a plus. Safe is handy, as is the refrigerator (for storing leftovers from restaurants).

We stayed at Platzl Hotel during our Christmas break in December 2012. We really enjoyed the location, great hospitality, atmosphere and friendly staff. Easy to get in and out, easy to to park, ... I put Platzt high on my favorite-hotel-list for Munich.

A truly 4 star superior property. Excellent staff. Large lobby. Above expected rooms including size.

The location is spot on. A large luxurious breakfast where you can order hot dishes including Munich sausage.

An attractive and very well maintained modern hotel. Right in the center of things, within five minutes on foot from nearby Marienplatz. A positive feature. Lovely, spacious lobby. Most courteous, helpful, reception staff. Fronts on Sparkassenstrasse which can at times be a bit noisy with impatient traffic. Which might advise one to go for the somewhat more expensive room(s) that locate away from street traffic. One modest complaint: While the single room accommodation was amply roomy by many German hotel standards, the bathroom was quite restrictive; the hand-basin was so small it did not lend itself to filling with water for much use. Aside from its more elegant dining facility, the hotel is linked to the nearby Ahinger Hof (opposite the Hofbräuhaus) that features well regarded beers from its own brewery outside Munich. The food is reasonably priced, excellent, and served within an attractively designed Bavarian restaurant atmosphere.
