We are a family of 4, and it was our first time in Munich. We were underwhelmed by the city itself, but one of the good points that made our trip worthwhile was this hotel. We had 1 queen sized bed, 1 sofa bed, a nespresso machine, stove, ref, microwave and dishwasher. The room was spotless, and towels were changed daily and room cleaned regularly. There's a gym for the health freaks, and there are 2 nearby playgrounds for those traveling with children. The service was impeccable. Lastly, we all loved MAX restaurant not just for the breakfast but also for the happy hour and the dinner menu. Nitpicking, I'd say the "market" is quite a letdown because it does not sell anything other than sweeties.

I used to always stay at the Hilton Munich City Center which has recently become over crowded and charges 25 Euro for daily internet. I was referred to this hotel and was pleasantly surprised at the size and quality of the rooms as well as the free wifi that is offered for guests. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The shower pressure and temperature was awesome, which is not an easy thing to find in European hotels. The kitchen that's in the room is a great perk which is also extremely rare outside fo the US. This will be my new go to hotel for trips to Europe!

Hotel is great except for the fact that the internet is consistently very very slow. If you depend on internet for you job I would seriously think twice about staying here. Otherwise this is a great hotel.

Room Tip: Any room is great except very poor internet service outside of hotel's own business center compu...

We really liked this hotel for its great rooms, nice bathroom, kitchenette and ac. The hotel is very friendly. The breakfast was good. I especially liked the free coffee machine to make lattes. You can do laundry here. You have to buy coins from the front desk to make the washers and dryers work. The coins are 4.50 euro each so 1 load of laundry is 9 euros. But they also include in that price washing detergent. The hotel is close to the train into Munich and a lot of cute restaurants and stores near by. We liked a small bavarian style restaurant down the street. There is also a small grocery store near by but it doesn't take credit cards. I would stay here again. Cost from /to airport via taxi was 20 euros.

The Marriot Residence Inn is intended for long stays so it differs a little from a hotel specially because it gets a full equipped room with fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, silverware, glasses, etc but it only offers housekeeping twice at every 5 days and no room service. The lack of room service is not a problem because you can use the restaurant of the Marriot Courtyard next door but it is open only until 10pm. The room is good, spacious (fitted four people of my family comfortably). Staff is verU helpful and friendly. Parking is a little expensive (eur 100 for 6 nights) but it appears to be the same (or more) in other hotels in the region. Good location to eat out but not with a walking distance to tourist attractions (very close by car or subway/tram tough).
Internet is free which would be great if actually worked on all the hotel. We stayed in two different rooms, the internet on one in the first floor was terrible, just impossible to use, we needed to walking downstairs to use it on the lobby (which works great there, good speed and stability). On the second room we got, on the fifth floor internet worked without a problem.
It would get a 4 star wasn't for the hassle on the internet but overall is a good hotel and a great option.

Just recently completed my first trip to Germany. We had an amazing stay in Munich and it was great to begin and end our long days in such a wonderful hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the kitchenette gave us great flexibility for meals or snacks. Breakfast every morning was great, large assortment of meats, fruits, baked goods, etc. The hotel staff was always extremely helpful, spoke perfect English, and was always able to make recommendations. They even had umbrellas available for the few rainy days we had.

Location: The hotel is located on the east side of Munich and was a quick (5 mins) walk to the Ostbanhof S-Bahn/U-Bahn station. The public transit system is Munich is incredible, certainly unlike anything in the US, from Wash DC. We were able to take a bus/tram/train to anywhere inside and just outside the city and always had a short walk to wherever we wanted to go.

I will certainly be returning to Munich again in the future and when I do, Residence Inn in Munich East will be the first hotel on the list!

Tip: The tap water in Munich is fantastic because of the close proximity to the Alps. Fill your water bottles up the tap water from the hotel, you will not be disappointed. It will absolutely save you money!
