“Great hotel to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

This hotel is not I'm the core but is only a few minutes away from the centre. Much better an average hotel. Clean. Organized. Modern. Included Internet. Tv extra. Didn't have breakfast because its over priced. Cater to business class crow. Quiet street. Great location in residential Munich. No porn shops and seedy sorts around ths hotel unlike most others. Service was good. Would stay again and recommend for seasoned travellers who don't want hassles or inadequate offerings.

Room Tip: Inner court better than street view.

“Fine but didn't meet expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Our weekend break in Munich coincided with celebrating our anniversary and so we chose to stay at this hotel because it seemed to be a nice boutiquey option. We deliberately went for one of the "superior" rooms as they seemed to be larger and the idea of overlooking the garden appealed to us.

We found the room clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, although we were a little disappointed with the size of the room as it seemed a little small in comparison with what was indicated on the website (and also given the price). There were a few nice touches in the room though, which were appreciated e.g. complimentary minibar, Molton Brown toiletries.

We were happy enough with the location being away from the hustle and bustle of the city but found it a shame that the hotel bar was dead in the evenings we were there as it would have been nice to be able to enjoy an aperitif or a nightcap on site as there weren't many other options close by. We didn't try the restaurant.

The fitness and "spa" area was small and very disappointing although if they have since renovated this, then perhaps there is now a better offering.

With one exception where one of ladies on the front desk recommended and booked a restaurant for us, we found the reception staff to be rather unfriendly, unwelcoming and not particularly helpful, making us feel like an inconvenience to them when checking in, asking for directions and checking out. This is not really the service that one expects from a 5 star hotel.

All in all, our stay was enjoyable enough but we would not hurry back.

Dear 'TrufflesSmith',

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we are happy to read that you had an enjoyable stay.We strive to offer personalized service and are more than happy to serve our guests.

We are a individual boutique hotel (Member of the Preferred Hotel Group) and offer 74 individually decorated rooms. The various room types are described on our website, the rooms facing our garden are very quiet and therefore categorized as a higher category - our standard rooms face the residential street are little larger. Our deluxe rooms are approx 25sqm some with balcony - which are the favourites of our guests. Our bar is very well visted by locals and daily open until 1:30.
We have completely renovated our wellness area and have added a new steambath to the new sauna as well as purchased state of the art technogym machines.

We hope to welcome you back soon and am confident that your next stay will prove to be an excellent experience also with the new wellness area.

Personal regards and wishing you all the best for the new year 2013.

Salika Glattkowski and the Mücnhen Palace Team.

“Loved the bar.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

First of all, the customer service here was exceptional. The staff are not pretentious nor rude as we have experienced in other 'luxury' hotels and were very helpful in all of our requests. I stayed in a single room and my parents in a double room. My room was extraordinarily large for a single room, with a beautiful marble bathroom, hydronic and central heating, opening windows, free minibar and free WiFi. My parents room, also a good size with the above inclusions, plus a bath. The beds were pretty hard but not uncomfortable.

Although the gym was being renovated at the time, the hotel offered an alternative down the road. The only drawback was that it was 20 EU to use which I thought was unfortunate, but not a big deal.

The little bar in the hotel was gorgeous with parquetry floors and timber walls; the bar staff were VERY attentive and efficient. I can highly recommend the Wiener Schnitzel in the bar - it was delicious and we ate it twice. Breakfast also good, but I agree with other reviewers, that the hotel needs to provide more tables for service.

In terms of location, it was about a 5 minute walk to the Princeregentensplatz train station, or take a bus or tram (about 12-15 mins) to the city centre, aka Marionsplatz. It was easy to get in and out of and nice to be away from the noisy hustle and bustle of Christmas time in downtown Munich.

All in all, a very nice stay.

Room Tip: Make sure to turn down your central heating to at least 18C in Winter as the hydronic heating will m...

“Muenchen Palace Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

A very smart clean hotel more in the quieter business district. About 30 minutes walk or take the tram to the city centre. A fair selection of restaurants nearby. The hotel own Keufer restaurant 200m away but it is very expensive. This hotel was quiet at night and the junior suite room was very comfortable. Would have preferred a bath instead of a shower. The staff were all very polite and friendly. The only drawback was breakfast time. We had to wait 10-15 mins each morning for a table - more are definitely needed. Plates, fruit, glasses and juice were constantly out. 25 euro for as much as you could eat and there was an excellent choice.

Room Tip: There are only 32 rooms and the who;e hotel was quiet.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Just returned from a 2 day break at this hotel. We had a wonderful time. The staff were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Rooms were good size and the free mini bar, nice touch. The bed was very comfortable.

We had breakfast in the hotel, bit pricey. The food in the evening was lovely as was the small bar area,
