“Quiet spot w/ old world charm just outside of Munich City Center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

My husband and I were on holiday for 4 days and picked this courtyard because the one in city center was booked. Thank goodness we did! Located just outside, but a 5 minute walk to the rail station, for $10 US you could get a 2 person train ticket to take you anywhere in the city no restrictions for 24 hours. Not to mention the hotel is located in such a lovely neighborhood with traditional dining options, gardens and fountains. It was lovely to walk around and dive into the local culture.

The hotel itself just went through a renovation, and the rooms are a good size with all the basic amenities including wifi(for a price- free in lobby), flat screens and showers(no tub). After reading past reviews on TA prior to booking, I did request a room back facing which was in fact quiet and overlooked gardens instead of the busy street.

There is a nice restaurant, perfect for dinner and drinks. Much better food than expected- and the service was outstanding. They offer classic German fair as well as a few american favorites.

Take advantage of the front desk- they were nothing but helpful with dining recommendations, as well as day tours to Bavaria. We would absolutley stay here again.

Room Tip: Looking for quiet? Request a back facing room on an upper level. Also, there are several outstandin...

Courtyard proved to be a perfect place to stay coming from the USA by plane, renting a car and driving to the hotel. It was easy to locate, had ample parking (20 euros a day) and an easy three-stop subway ride to the city centre.

The room was well furnished and comfortable and while not large by US standards, it was by the typical European hotel rooms. The hotel had the usual Courtyard amenities, but also had a shared breakfast buffet with an adjoining Residence Inn.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. Internet for the two lobby computers worked well. The wireless in the rooms, however, was less satisfactory.

Stayed there last week during a business trip, because the other Marriott properties were sold out. Location was OK, within walking distance from Munich East train station, close to subway and bus stations, didnt try walk to city center, but it was only 3 or 4 stations away on subway, english garden is 10-15 min away on bus. Room was OK, with typical courtyard furnishing, though the AC is not responsive at all, no matter how I adjusted it, it always came out as cold, so had to turn it off eventually. Although there is a Elite line at front desk, it didnt seem to be honored much.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side facing away from the railroads are quieter, and you can see the nice neighbo...

We were very pleased with our recent stay. Rooms were clean and quiet, beds were SUPER comfortable. Would have rated 5 stars if breakfast was priced a little lower. Would recommend and would absolutely stay again...

Generally the facilities of the hotel are OK, but they changed their policy to allow an early continental breakfast to a more strickt regime, which is not workable in my case. So I won't stay in this hotel in future anymore.

Here for work with the emphasis on late starts and finishes. Front desk friendly but not brilliantly efficient. Only news and sport English TV channels. Rooms have too much furniture for their size and not soundproofed from other rooms. In spite of checking in at midnight, I was woken by noises from adjoining rooms from 6am onwards. Even with a do not disturb sign on my door, housekeeping tried to come in while I was still asleep. Bed hard. Pillows hard and very small. Not a great nights sleep!

Bathroom only has shower and although water pressure is great it's on,y a standard shower not proper wet room or particularly enjoyable and no shower cap supplied.

Our family stayed in this Courtyard for two nights in June. It was very clean and the front desk staff were great. They were friendly and offered suggestions of where to eat dinner. We chose to walk about 3 minutes directly down the street to Zum Brunnstein and it was delicious. The Courtyard breakfast was amazing too with so many options. The rooms were spacious and clean, beds were comfortable and could accommodate a roll away. Connecting to the courtyard was a Residence Inn by Marriott and we were able to use their laundry room. It would have been nice if the Courtyard had an executive lounge- we're used to that luxury when staying with Marriott brands. Overall, it was worth staying here and I don't have any complaints.
