“Standard Motel One Comfort and Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Pros:

+ Motel One is a good chain for quick stays (such as overnight prior to going to to airport), this one does not disappoint
+ Nice lobby with cafe
+ Decent rooms with nice shower
+ Car park below (not free)
+ Train station right next door (to go into Munich downtown area)
+ Free wifi!
+ The receptionist can also double as bar tender

Cons:
- Car park ticket system is quirky..... (in and out privilege is tricky)

First of all, this is really a motel, so do not count on hotel standard.
Good choice for a really short stay 1-2 nights. If you seek accommodation for longer, choose something else.

It is really clean and well designed but I think that if you want to stay longer than 2-3 nights, you can be not happy with it.
Rooms are quite small and their equipment is very basic. Breakfast is served downstairs and the restaurant has only tiny tables and small chairs or even stools... The choice is not the greatest but you cannot complain.
Nevertheless, the place is very clean, well-located and with quite comfortable beds, so if you need a fast sleep and then continue somewhere else this may be a good choice for you.

Room Tip: Maybe there is an option to take a bigger room than I got. Ask the reception, maybe they will help...

Location: Quite a bit outside of Munich, especially in the morning you need a while (30 minutes to Schwabing) towards the city center.
Check in and welcome: Had to wait for a while, because the staff was busy with other guests. After 5-10 min, check in went very fast. I had to pay the room during check in, not when checking out the next day.
Room: Small, but nice and good enough for just one or a few nights. Mattress, linens and sheet were ok. There was only shower gel offered, no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Wifi was inclused in the room rate for 59 EUR, which is really a great value for money. It was a bit noisy during night from the street.
Bar: Staff was nice, drinks were not cheap.
Breakfast: Excellent value for money for 7,50 EUR. They offer coffee, tea and juices, breads, croissants, butter, jam, cheese and ham, vegetables and fruit salad as well as yoghurt.

I like the motel one chain. Clean and new hotels and Garching is not different. However this property is situated in an unattractive industrial area. But the U-bahn station Garching Hochbrueck is next to the hotel. This hotel is very good if you attend an event at the Alianz Arena which is one u-bahn stop away. As always rooms in motel one are a bit spartan but also clean. Breakfast very good. And the staff at this hotel is friendly and helpful.

As we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by a friendly staff and received a voucher for a welcome drink, which is a great amendment and yummy on top!
The room was spotless as well as the bathroom with a big shower. View out of the window was the alps and the Allianz Arena. Bed was comfy.
Breakfast was a great selection. Different juices and a coffe machine which you used yourself and breads and toast. You didn`t get any "hot" breakfast which might be for some a minus.
The outside terrace had a loung area and canvas chairs.
Subway station is in front of your nose (but you don`t hear it) and takes you directly to the centre (Marienplatz) within 15 minutes.
Parking costs 5 EUR per day.
Overall a pleasant stay and would definitely stay again!

Nice budget hotel, newly built, well maintained, good breakfast, modern bar. Superb staff.
Cosy and modern atmosfhere, the lounge is a perfect place to be.
Conveninetly located 200 meters from train station and close to the airport, therefore, far from Munich.

Stayed there for bauma and it is recomended.

The rooms are extremely cosy with very comfortable pillows, beds and duvets. One unique element of the room was the artificial fireplace which made our New Year spent in Munich ultra special especially in the cold even though there wasn't any heat emitted.

Location: Initially we were told that this hotel is located far away from Munich. But with the train that stops right next to the hotel, it makes travelling extremely convenient.

The lobby area where you can also have breakfast is very spacious. Breakfast was very good. Loved their croissant!
