“Great location for Oktoberfest, every Convenience you need!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

Located in a nice residential neighborhood with a supermarket directly next door, a cool restaurant (Hong Kong Bar) up the block, laundromat next to restaurant , bus stop directly to the Marienplatz across the street and Oktoberfest a nice 10 walk. The hotel staff was so very kind and patient. This is primarily a business hotel so it is relatively quiet during Oktoberfest. The rooms were pretty cool. Let me explain.. once you get past the dark wood 70's feel of the foyer, the room is very nice and comfy. It's clean, the kitchenette has a dishwasher, fridge, silverwear, glasses, dishwashing soap and if i remember correctly diswasher detergent. If you think you are getting two twin beds, you are BUT they are pushed close together to form a king. Of course you can push them apart. The bathroom was good but it has the european half glass enclosure that really did NOTHING to prevent water and soap from going everywhere (could be just me) just ask for extra towels to put on the floor. Oh, and the website says they have laundry facilitties on site...they do but don't count on anyone coming back to remove their clothes on time, just go to the laundromat up the block and have a drink or chineese food at the restaruant next door. This hotel was such a pleasant surprise to find I seriously can't wait to go back. Oh the only negative, was that I booked a family suite online but when we checked in they told us that we would get standard rooms at the special "Oktoberfest" rate. It wasn't too much of a big deal, the room was just fine.

Room Tip: comfy rooms

This was a lovely hotel with spotless, pleasantly decorated rooms. I would certainly recommend this hotel to travellers who have been to Munich before and are comfortable with the public transport system as you need to take the tube (around a 10 minute walk) 2 stops to get to the main square. There is a supermarket next door to the hotel which was very handy. A nice hotel for frequent visitors.

This was more of a serviced apartment than a hotel. We were in room 128. The room has a microwave, stove, kitchenware etc.
•Pleasant room with separate bedroom and living area.
•Good lighting.
•Bed is 2 small singles pushed together.
•Lots of wardrobe space.
•In room safe.
•2 x 2 seater sofas plus a coffee table
•Electric venetian blinds are hard to operate. 1 lot closed fine but half an hour later they opened up automatically. The other set did not move.
•Quite poor TV reception
•Bathroom is very nice
•Lobby is really nice and professional looking
To get to town you can catch bus 132 from around the corner. It takes about 10 minutes or less.
Parking is €17 per day in garage or €7 per day on the street (even though the hotel states that there is free parking). It feels like a safe area even at night.
Breakfast was fantastic. Wide selection to suit all tastes.

Although we were very disappointed with our stay overall, I will say that the staff was very friendly and did all they could to help. When booking this hotel, I thought it was going to be located within the city center. This was not the case, however, it was easy to reach via the bus system with a stop located a minute's walk from the hotel. The outside temperatures were below freezing with a foot of snow on the ground in Munich, and the heat in our room was broken! The hotel staff gave us a space heater the first night, but it didn't do much good. Then we requested a second one the next night that was much more sufficient. We were not able to change the channels on our TV, and the one channel that did work was cut in half with static. Our bed consisted of two twin mattresses pushed together with a 4-finger gap in the middle, which resulted in very achey backs during our day-time touring. Also, the room reeked of cigarette smoke. It wasn't quite the romantic weekend we had planned, and we wouldn't stay here again even with the $79 price tag on Hotwire.

This is a very good 4 Star Long stay hotel catering to relocating or lengthy stay executives. It has good access to the central city and if you like to exercise excellent jogging along the Isar river. The attached Restaurant Shanes has outstanding cusine and has recently recieved rave reviews in Sud Deutchland Magazine. Shane the Chef and Bill the Head of the Bar and their staff provide great friendly service and a unique menu. The rooms are moderate in size, but are fully equiped with a good kitchen, nice bath and relatively good storage. The hotel is quiet and very clean. The staff is young, but attentive. For those that have a car there is excellent underground parking. There is a REWE Super market next door and a good selection of neighborhood restaurants.

I would highly recommend it over it sister hotel in North Munich because of the location, great neighborhood and ease of access to the central Alstadt when you have free time. If you are looking or a full service hotel you would be better off with the Hilton Park, Westin, Marriott or Four Season. You will pay much more and not have the flexiblity nor have a better restaurant.
